You can schedule practice, but you can't really control when something gold comes out. There's no algorithm for being creative..
Just figure out what works for you. If I at least put 2-3 hours in around the same time frame everyday, I notice things tend to stick well and I make progress in a sense.

I've been learning synthesis and production for almost a year now and I've yet to actually FINISH out an entire track.
If you can manage to become a production king and get signed in a summer, more power to you though.

Ha thanks for the advice, I don't necessarily want to become a "king" I just want to get a CD together.
