I guess the curiosity plays a part in it, but you get fans of gorey movies, violent anime and that extreme wrestling stuff (which i find more disturbing because wrestling is presented as real) and they are industries for this sort of thing - movies like Hostel for example, not counting the less mainstream ones that essentially entirely revolve around the gore. I found people who are really into that stuff to be incredibly immature, i mean when we were 14 a lot of us thought violence was fun and funny, but as you got older you sort of get more sensitised. Not in a "omg you pussy its just fake blood" way but in a "this isn't something a normal human being should be enjoying" way.

I look at some gore threads and people getting run over and shit, but that video was absolutely disgusting, I watched maybe 10 seconds and could watch no more, I skipped to the bit where they were stabbing him with the screwdriver and it wouldn't go through his abs so you could see it poking round under his skin, one of the worst things i've seen.

I have housemates who happily watch people being chopped up, but I've never become desensitised.

Like horror movies or for real.... like that rotten . com website ? I honestly don't get people who dont find that stuff a bit distressing. I get why you might want to prank someone with shocking and offensive shit (just barely) but people who are "into gore" are just sociopaths. Faces of Death, extreme hardcore wrestling, fake snuff films, gore sites, the content disturbs me much less than the fact that people are making, distributing and enjoying this stuff.

I agree. I think it's just from them spending too long on 4chan and getting completely desensitised from all the gore gifs on there.
