Got latency on my automation curves??
Hey!
I'm using Logic Pro 9, and lately i've been having problems with my automations.
The most common and most irritation problem is when i automate the "low pass frequency" to a sound that i want to slowly fade in, the first hit always starts without autmation, and then the automation grabs the sound and it starts to fade in. It feels like there is a delay/latency to the automation, do anyone understand what i mean? haha. I tried to explain the best i could.
Please help!

Re: Got latency on my automation curves??
does pulling the automation curve back a slight bit make a difference? are you using an interface? soft synths or audio?
Also try checking you buffer

Hi! Thanks for taking your time.
No it doesn't help to pull back the automation curve. No i'm not using an interface. And i'm using soft synths, and i know that the problem doesn't occurs when i'm working with Audio Files.
My "I/O Buffer Size" is 256, should i higher that number or lower it?
Thanks again! This is very appreciated

Re: Got latency on my automation curves??
why dont you just start the automation 1/16th of a bar back from ware you intend it to start?
Not ideal but a work-around.
I used to have this problem with logic 8. are you upto the latest version of logic?

Re: Got latency on my automation curves??
I get this with filter, its fucking annoying, but i just try and work around it. I find that if you play from where it is open, then when the audio starts where it needs to be filtered, the first moment it will be open, but if you then if you stop it from a point where the filter is closed, and then play that bit again, it should be ok. Another thing i try when like a low pass filter starts from 20hz, is to just automate the gain on the first hit, so that you can hear it as you wouldnt be able to hear it anyway, and then if the filter is open slightly, its to quiet to be heard.

Re: Got latency on my automation curves??
to be fair i have this problem too and it's a real pain. i'm probably going to switch to reaper though considering logic x is taking forever.
