I can not disagree with that:)
Seriously: although I am a newbie myself, I believe the best suggestion is that if you're not happy, take a break. If you miss it after 2 days, then you know you have to keep going.

I've been producing for roughly a year and a half. These last couple of days I've been more frustrated with music production than any man who has ever walked the surface of this planet. I haven't been able to get ANYTHING sounding the way I want it to and my motivation has been shattered into millions upon millions of pieces. I feel that maybe I should take a good break from producing, until I feel that I am 'ready' again.

You should always be trying to stop making music.

If your trying to stop its because its an addiction which with making tunes i think is a good thing. The only thing that i get frustrated about is lack of time or working making me to fucked to rustle up the motivation. When i'm on my a game no one in the world exists other than me my computer and my flow.
I have no intention of ever getting signed,i was chuffed when i hit 5000 plays on my soundcloud.
i think the fact your getting the interest you are getting is massive so why get frustrated, find the thing in your music they like and were interested in and nurture it.You should be obsessive about your music and frustration is just a part of that so you doing it wright.

I know I've got lots of time, but I'm just really driven to succeed in music, I really can't imagine myself doing anything else

MoonUnit wrote:sick tunes. My boy has been producing for about 5-6 years now and he is just recently starting to blow up.
It really all started because of the hype my friend's and I have put out for him.
He signed some tunes to a small record label.
He started to do a bunch of remix contests.
Eventually what once sounded indistinct became distinct as he began to make his own flavor of wobbles. DO SHIT PEOPLE HAVEN'T HEARD BEFORE... I'm saying this as a generalization. All of my bud's real unique tracks have burned themselves into my brain because they are just that.
Make tons of free tunes available on sound cloud and hint to artists that you can send them a wav version or non-transcode for playing it out.
Your music in the hands of the right person can be a game-changer.
That's all I can think of, off the top of my head.
Oh and here's a tune from my friend:
Soundcloud
see what I did there? HYPEHYPEHYPEHYPE

That's a sick tune.

My obsession with music is ruining my life. "Hey, do you wanna go out?" "Nah, I got the new ____ album and I wanna listen to it/I have a nice beat, I wanna produce/I just wanna chill and listen to music/etc"
My family consider it unhealthy, and whenever I try to stop it's literally impossible as all I'm doing in my head is playing music/thinking about producing. The only time I stop is to play video games, and even then, I listen to the game soundtrack.
Am I just a weirdo or do you guys get these music jitters too?
