[Dubstep] Kurfew - Dopplershift (NoGoodInk Remix)

Post by NoGoodInk » Sun Jun 10, 2012 3:49 pm

Hey guys, this is my remix of Kurfew's Dopplershift! It is a heavy Dubstep tune, so tell me what you think!

Soundcloud

Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks!

The kick is quite flat and not as heavy as the tune would otherwise suggest. Likewise the snare is lacking a bit of power to it and sounding overly splashy as a result. The midrange is sitting too high in the mix and dominating the frequency range a little too much, maybe look at some subtractive EQing to make space for the other elements. The section 1m43s onwards is far too noisy as a result.

Thanks man, very informative! I definitely agree, but perfection comes with time. And for a guy who just learned how mastering works, I think I am doing an OK job. One suggestion I would make to you when replying to peoples music, is just to try and give an upside to their tunes as well. You don't want to be a total downer on someones day!

Thanks again though. ;-)

My comment was more about the mixdown than the mastering job.

I give upsides where I see them. And TBF you did say "Any feedback would be appreciated"...should've said if you specifically wanted positive feedback.
