Getting the washing in vs. talking on the Internet about the washing still being out.

Priorities.

Just found a mouse on the verge of death on my living room carpet - he couldn't run away, so I guess he'd either eaten some poison or was on his way out anyway. Had to scoop him up and finish him off with a trowel in the garden. I'm clocking up the bodies this year... :o

Feels bad man. I wish the cute little buggers wouldn't come inside! :(

My housemate is fucking nuts. So glad I'm moving out in a week and a bit.

Every day is like waking up in a horror film. Slowly walking through the house trying to take in the carnage; plates broken, kitchen full of mouldy washing up, completely random acts of a bizarrely violent nature...Today I found half my clean washing, plus all the tea towels in the house in the bath, half full of manky water. When I asked him what the fuck he was doing he denied all knowledge. We're the only ones who have been in the house for the past three days and it sure as hell wasn't me. Just discovered the toaster is broken, again, denied all knowledge.

WHY GOD WHY
My name is Dom and I like making ambientish music and drinking tea. Nice to meet you.

I thought these posts were pretty amazing and needed quoting for future generations :Q:

Sure, you can be so into each other that it simply doesn't matter, but love and lust tend to fade over time and at the end of the day if you're not trying to live the same way, why are you trying to do your living with each other? Find someone who wants to travel down the same path as you, grab their hand and leg it into your sunset... the right person will speed you up, not slow you down or try to change your course. Falling in love is surprisingly easy and there are billions of members of the opposite sex out there - pick the right one.

I spent the best part of 2 years trying to stay arm-in-arm with a girl that had taken a different fork in the road... the further we drifted, the more effort it took to stay together... eventually we just had to admit that we were slowing each other down.

travelling would be a different path.

job wise? no? studying? no?
Job/Studying is pretty minor, I agree. Though there's a lot more to a personality than what people do 9-5. Incredibly broadly speaking, the most successful relationships are achieved between people who have similar goals - eg. Is money important to you or are you happy to live in a leaking shack as long as you've got your friends/health? Does going to work bleary-eyed after a midweek bender sound like a life well led or a career well wasted? Do you want kids in your 20s, as late as possible or never at all? Do you want to settle down in the country or in a city? If you understand, appreciate or, best, share your partner's goals you'll naturally make the best team-mate for them to achieve them.

Most relationships I've seen go down the pan have really boiled down to the two people approaching life in a different way and not realising it. It's surprisingly how easily people to get to the "Wow! She's a female ME!" stage within a few weeks even if the person's motivations are completely different... at first the differences seem quirky, cute or even exotically sexy - after a year or so you start to wonder why the fuck she just won't act right. Who the fuck raised this girl and what the fuck is she going to do with my kids?!

As we get older we'll get 'stuck' with our partners more and more - friends age, get responsibilities, get married to boring stnuc, have kids, sell-the-fuck-out etc so the LADSLADSLADS night out and the night-in-with-the-missus start to merge into the same thing. She'll become the default setting for your company, so you'd better make sure you appreciate how each other live. Realistically, you've got to be with somebody that blows off steam in at least a compatible way to you.... and someone that'll still want to blow off steam with you when you're 64 and trying to cheer yourselves up because the kids have fucked off to Uni.

On the other hand, I'm gradually turning into an arch-perfectionist and as such am destined to die cold and alone in my piss-stained trousers muttering "No, not good enough". :corncry:

All this talk of shitty cat behavior.
I just walked into my son's room and found a half-eaten rat on his floor, head missing.

It's not the one at all is it. :(

There is usually a dead rodent at my door in the morning courtesy of the cat, such a pain in the arse and I always end up feeling bad about it.

Huge sudden cramp in both of my hamstrings. I think I'm going to cry from the pain. I tried to stand up to straighten my legs and I just fell down.

Hurts so much...

Afraid of bending my legs now.
