Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
So I opened a mix I was doing a while back in FL and for some reason a window pops up saying some of the mp3 tracks can't be found. I tried dragging more tracks into the playlist to finish the mix but it won't even load the tracks I drop in. Does anyone know the problem?
Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
The mp3's u had there are removed so Fl can't find them. Are you using the program as admin? When i open my fl in admin mode i cannot drop any audio files into the projectAlissio wrote:So I opened a mix I was doing a while back in FL and for some reason a window pops up saying some of the mp3 tracks can't be found. Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
All my mp3s are in the exact same storage as when I started the mix. It seems like it only sometimes recognizes the tracks. I believe I am using FL as an Admin, how do you open FL as a non admin?MaZa1 wrote:The mp3's u had there are removed so Fl can't find them. Are you using the program as admin? Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
Is this a external drive? If you plug your drive into a different USB slot (or even the same USB if you've taken it out) - sometimes it'll need to be re-picked up or the USB names the drive a different letter.
Best way to do this is to go; Options > File Settings > input your folder in the "extra browser folders" and every time you re-plug in your drive go back and click the folder icon and click ok.
IF it isn't an external drive; I would suggest the same, just putting it in a folder deep in your HD (like program files) which you won't get chunk conflicts from heavy use of that part of the drive (desktops/my docs can prove trouble some for older drives)
This also could be a RAM issue; how many tracks are you working with? If your RAM is 2gig and below; you'll be able to handle around 8-12 - 5minute + audio files. This is the only other thing I can think if its not letting you import tracks.

Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
I've got a question that's been bugging me for a while now. Which volume nobs should I give the most attention too? I've started turning the channel volume all the way up and adjusting each channel's volume in the mixer track. What about plugins? all of them have level nobs, but I usually send them to a mixer track anyway, so I how should I treat each volume nob?

All my mixer faders usually remain relatively flat.

Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
i really hope they make patcher more user friendly, its SOOO much easier to make a heavy modulated sound in abletons instrument rack then it is in patcher, (when it comes to signal routing and midi mapping many macro knobs)

I used to leave them flat too and only focus on the input, but with my new workflow I've just gotten used to fking with the mixer faders instead.nowaysj wrote:All my mixer faders usually remain relatively flat.

Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
What are the best settings when exporting a track from FL Studio? I want the greatest quality possible.
Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
MP3 at 320 kbps for listening pleasure and WAV for mastering.Alissio wrote:What are the best settings when exporting a track from FL Studio? I want the greatest quality possible.

Not true, entirely.
Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
How do I change the default save location for projects? I've gone in File Settings>>Projects and changed the projects folder but whenever I go to save a project for the first time it still defaults to the image line projects folder on the C Drive.

in that default folder, create a shortcut in there to where you want to actually save themwebstarr wrote:How do I change the default save location for projects? Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
So, I'm probably being stupid... but....
If you're in FL and you have massive open and you're pressing keys on your keyboard (midi) and change waveforms (i.e. saw 1 to duck organ), then does massive hang on the last note you played? I can click the stop button on FL and everything goes back to normal.
It only happens if I'm changing the forms. I guess the simple solution is to not hold down keys while changing the shapes, but I was wondering if it's just me that this is happening to.
/scratches head.
Thanks.

Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
Ok what the fuck have I clicked? I used to be able to click samples on the left and FL would cut the sample - so I could have a vocal sample and drag back the left edge to say cut off all but the first phrase of the vocal. However now instead it just time stretches the samples? Help

You want your faders to be as close to unity gain as possible. Get the gain right for each stage of your audio processing and your mixer faders shouldn't be all over the place.
This is an example of decent looking gain structure, according to audio tutsplus:

I know that you get a few shit tutorials on that site, but most of what they say is on point.
Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread
What is the reasoning behind not movin the mixer faders much? As I see it, it shouldnt do any difference than adjusting the input to the mixerdididub wrote:blinkesko wrote:I used to leave them flat too and only focus on the input, but with my new workflow I've just gotten used to fking with the mixer faders instead.nowaysj wrote:All my mixer faders usually remain relatively flat.

Uncheck 'stretch' in the upper left corner of the playlist, in the audio clip sectionmthrfnk wrote:Ok what the fuck have I clicked?
