Bassline Layers

Post by Calix » Fri Jun 15, 2012 3:40 am

So I have used the search bar, nothing really helps me.
Probably because I'm still a beginner in producing.
So my song is all good at the start, but then after the buildup when the bass drops, the drop just doesnt sound good at all, its just some bass sounds put together with no rythm, they all have different frequencies, etc.
I have no idea how to eq properly or how to make good sub basses so I really need some help, I've got some help from people before and its a lot of help but I still can never get the drop to sound right.
Please give me some tips, or if you want I can send you the live set and you can see whats wrong or what I should do, etc.
Thanks (:

i take it you have a synth dedicated to basslines and wobbles (like massive) and a folder of bassline presets. YOu can change presets while your midi track plays them, and keep the sounds you like with bouncing.
For example you have a preset that sounds good leading to the snare but later it doesnt sound as good... bounce it, keep the part leading to the snare and continue searching for the sound to put after it.
If you are not handy with knowing what parameters of sound to change to get what you want then you should really learn how to work with bounced wavs. If you layer them then you need know how to automate the volume with envelopes and eq the wavs.
