i feel like getting reason was a waste of money. i dont use it to actually produce, just to make Drums, fx and sometimes synths. all the same, an upgrade would be nice

Well for the first month reason 6 was out there was a pay what you want promotion and Im 60% sure there's a similar thing for 6 users

The pay what you want was for reason and record owners iirc and same version upgrades are always free
