"One of the UK’s finest and most enlightened digital labels" - Loudat

"Always a haven for upcoming talent, Slime Recordings continue to generate heat" - Juno Download

Slime proudly welcomes Manchester-based artist The Attic Project to the label for his debut release. Combining the swing of garage and the bassweight of dubstep with broken beat for a unique style that is all his own, his work has a cinematic feel to it often missing in much of modern electronica.

'Hourglass' drifts in on sensual vocals and guitar licks, before building into a laconic groove that is full of hazy summer sunshine. Layer upon layer of rich instrumentation afford the track an immersive experience that leaves you breathless.

'Trapped Between' takes the elements of the former into darker territory for a hybrid roller that brings dubstep and garage together with an orchestral flourish, producing a truly beautiful piece of music. Strings and clipped vocals intertwine to bring out the colour in this track for a real widescreen feel.

'Art Of Trauma' drops things down a notch with a melancholy piano motif encased in a staccato broken beat. Chords wash through the track with a deft lightness of touch and draw you deeper into it's groove.

Barely up 24 hours and already getting hype:

Immersed Audio : http://www.immersedaudio.com/2012/05/pr ... -from.html
It's pretty much become the standard that when I hear from Andy at Slime about a new release it's going to be something we like. The Attic Project's "Memories From Myth EP" is no exception. The 19 year old artist who is currently studying at Manchester Uni has turned in 3 originals, each with a huge emphasis on emotion. The Title track kicks things of with a mid tempo, bass heavy and atmospheric track, with a distinct nod (and possibly a bit more) to Future Sound Of London's "Papua New Guinea". Next up is "Trapped Between", keeping on the same vibe this one makes great use of the vocal and some of the deepest most rumbling subs on the EP. Lastly "Art Of Trauma" brings together expertly programmed drums and a piano riff that wouldn't sound of place in a film.

Each track is a really nice listen, high emotions, atmosphere and plenty of bass, just how we like it. See what you think...

The Attic Project - Memories From Myth EP is out on 11th June at all good download stores.

England's prevailing winds continue to blow in talent from the South West. Riding the winds of West Country Bass comes this young upstart Angus Nisbet who is all over the dials for the 33rd release from Loudat's favourite Slime Recordings...

Absolutely amazing review from Juno Download for this release!
Know why they call this kid The Attic Project? Because there's plenty going on upstairs. Seriously; breakbeat as enchanting and captivating as this doesn't come from some empty-headed jerkwad who dreams of shiny objects and little else. There's a complexity, depth and timelessness in these tracks that aren't always on the breakbeat agenda. The three cuts err on the warm-up/headphones side the spectrum, celebrating the charms of the east with western production and dancefloor techniques. Euphoria fans should head directly to "The Art Of Trauma", a piano-blessed chiller coated in emotion, it's not far of Rob Duggan's ubiquitous "Clubbed To Death". Beautiful.
