The three seconds I've watched seemed very good for it's target audience.
And yes there is a point to being too posh...it shows class is an impediment...deliberately so.

Jokes aside, i've never seen an artist i like play live. In fact, the only experience i've had with live or system music other than public shows etc. was a festival which i hated every second of. Hmm. And i'm 19 so i've probably missed the boat.

I've never seen a nineteen year old miss a boat.
...must've been a lot in 1915 who wished they had.

Not really, most people I see out in various cities are in their 20s to 30s.

The Sam girl is way funnier. A sarcastic smartass beats an awkward goofball every time.

Your 19 and feel you've missed the boat???

You've got it all ahead of you man!

Make a point of finding at least one decent club night/gig you'd like to go to every month, and go to it.

If there's not much going on in your area, this may be hard. But if there is, you have no excuses! ;-)

The only regular events that i know of in my city are Hype (they bring in Circus and Never Say Die acts etc) and that one in the Birmingham thread that focuses on vinyl-only deeper stuff. Plus, all my mates moved away to Uni, the ones that remain aren't really into the stuff, dont really have the confidence to go on my one (do people even do this?). Not really that fussed to be honest, i really dont like what i saw at the festival (i really dont like drunk people or those on mdma and ket) so i probably wouldn't enjoy it, but still worth experiencing once i guess.

Never climbed a tree either.

Sounds like you're looking for excuses to not risk having any fun with your life tbh. You get one go at this. Make it count, kid.

I imagined you as Paul Newman saying this.

^^^I don't like festivals either...overwhelming
but clubs are more intimate & deep ds nights tend to avoid inebriates
just be who you are, wear what makes you feel comfortable (maybe not pyjamas)
go early, stand somewhere dark, away from the bar & listen
you won't get accosted or stand out cos there's always people that do that.
Maybe, after a few times you'll feel relaxed enough to dance...that's the fun bit.

But, in the end, don't rush anything because you're not really missing anything unmissable.

& You poor pommie bastard...no trees in Brum eh? I saw a few in Droitwich, suggest you go down there for a climb. ;-)

FUCK YEAH

I normally agree with the sentiment of sd5's posts, but this is utter rubbish. Rush to try everything for you have a finite amount of time. If you don't try things you have the opportunity to try, you'll end up on your death bed wondering what they were like rather than remembering how fucking awesome you were.

If you try things once and dislike them, then it's more than fair enough to say they're not for you... but sitting at home saying "Nah, it's not for me" is shameful. Life is precious... and the energy of a 19 year old even more so.

I'd put climbing trees ahead of going to nightclubs, too. Man hasn't lived til he's seen his local area from the branches of a sturdy Oak.
