P Daley- Dreaming (Unfinished)
I'm just looking for some feedback and constructive criticism on this track I'm working on. Started working on it a few weeks ago, then I went on a 2 week vacation and started back on it today.

The drums need to come up. They're pretty drowned out right now.

some cool ideas here ,like the pad at 1:12, but the mid range sounds quite unpleasant to my ears, and most of the tune sounds a bit off key and sloppy. Imo of course
Re: P Daley- Dreaming (Unfinished)
Thanks so much for the feedback guys. It's completely unmastered, which could be the reason for it sounding off (and the drums being drowned out). I'm personally nowhere near the end of this track, this is kind of a rough draft of a rough draft.

Mastering won't pull the drums out of the mix the way it is now. You'll wanna fix as much as you can now. It'll make mastering a breeze.

I'm just looking mainly for a feel of the song right now, which is why I haven't done much touching up on it. Also the reason the transition between parts is so bare and hollow.Noslo wrote:Mastering won't pull the drums out of the mix the way it is now. You'll wanna fix as much as you can now. Problem with the drums is all volume. If I sidechain the kick and boost the snare and hat a bit, while bringing down the mid-range on the basses and synths, the drums will start sounding pretty hard.
