innit, not your fault, how it goes sometimes.

Quite different but I work for a tech company and we basically got told the other day that all the money they put into research with top universities for new technologies is just a publicity stunt and they pretty much ignore/do nothing with the results the research comes up with.
Pissed me off a lot. Seems like almost a betrayal of what I believe top technology companies should be doing.
