What is independence, and why is depending on someone something that people dread? Why do people feel restricted in relationships with others and feel held back, robbed of their independence? What if accepting the co-dependance is the key to fulfillment and happiness for us. That this connection is the essence of living.

People could stop killing and brutalizing each other because they have different ideals/religions/world views/political beliefs. It's just different ideas, and people are willing to perform the most atrocious acts upon each other just because someone possesses a different mind set. Why? I couldn't care less if you're Muslim, or gay, or black, or right wing etc. Why can't everyone else?

That makes sense but the use of the term "co-dependence" has come to mean over-dependence on another's attention or modification of one's behaviour to meet another's needs to the detriment of one's own well-being. For sure, to be mutually connected & freely relating to others is a basic way of maintaining a healthy adjustment to the world.

I can see an improved effort but still, your boss ripping you off is not particularly crazy. Your accepting it would be.

I was actually thinking about saving up some cash, and then one day rent a small place in some very cheap country.
And then just stay in there for a year, completely isolated, never coming out (except for buying groceries) and completely isolated from friends & relatives (no internet, phone etc.).

I'd probably spend the year coming up with some proper deep philosophical ideas and making a lot of tunes. That, or going completely mad like Jack Nicholson in the Shining.\
Anyone else ever thought about this ?

I think about it all the time actually. Did something like that a couple of years ago (except the cheap country part) and ended up making loads of music I never did anything with, wrote film scripts/ideas I'll probably never do anything with, and had a few good book ideas I'll probably never expand on. I enjoyed having zero responsibility though. Oh, and the drugs.

That's precisely why it's one of the most profitable industries. They fuck you over without repercussions. I've never heard of a union of burger flippers, but they need to get on that.

yea my crazy idea sounds similar to the above, I would be interested to live in a hut somewhere in the middle of Norway or some shit on my own for a year with no human contact and a years supply of K. See what happens when you come out the other side.

Of course, this being a crazy idea, the logistics of carrying this out are almost impossible, unless you win the lottery or some shit and can afford to pay someone to slip dinners under your door every day or something

Yeah it doesn't have to be in a cheap country but since you're not going to have a job while doing this you gotta be able to pay the rent for a long period of time. Doesn't matter if it's the most boring country in the world since you're not really going to spend time outside anyway

It's crazy considering how standard my current trajectory is.
