Brostep of skateboarding? If that's the general opinion of skateboarders, I'll buy a longboard to smack
m all in the face
I don't have time to mess around in a skatepark, I need to go from a to b and I like riding skateboards :)
Planks I'm looking at are only 2-3 inches longer than a regular board though.

What board you got?

Going for a Koastal 2 face or a Carr 66 myself. Not exactly long decks but that's not something I need anyway.
a friend built the board for me but it's super gut, doesn't turn too good though but it's lasted well and this is the fourth season i'm riding it. i made some bad ass paintjob on it might take a pic soon

to the haters, i know where you're coming from, if i had the balls to skate i'd prolly be in your camp bashing longboarders and longboards

seriously though riding and carving is brilliant fun, also riding fast with a smaller cruiser that turns like a motherfucker is a great laugh too
mks knows, longboarding isn't about silly hipsters riding retro vinyl boards posing to cameras

Much respect for rollers too, most of them here are long distance ice skaters which -of course-
is the most bad ass sport...

I wouldn't even call that a longboard. Skull skates is sick man.

This is the shit I'm talking about.

I just get tired of seeing people that are barely able to push/ride (on a longboard) and saying they skateboard. It's like getting a MIDI controller/Virtual DJ, hitting auto sync and immediatelly telling people you're a DJ.

Damn, is this really the attitude of skaters these days? The skatepark used to be the most inclusive place in the world. Nobody gave a fuck if you could actually skate as long as you were willing to scrape a knee and skin up occasionally.

Don't let skating get elitist. :(

lol skating is all about doing whatever you want, letting others do what they want and bigging up everyone for doing something cool :)
although fuck the little scooter kids that only try to air tailwhip out of bowls and completely ruin every decent park near to my house
its not even the scooters that piss me off, its just lairy little 12 year olds that get in your way (on purpose) and then start crying when you hit them

Naww man i'm not even talking about people who try and skate. I have lots of respect for anyone who puts in the effort to try and learn to skate. I'm talking about people who longboard and go around telling people they skate. In my head I'm thinking, you don't skate, you ride around on the skateboard equivalent of training wheels. It might have something to do with the average longboarder around my area. They're the type of people who wear Tapout shirt's/ pink polo's with popped collars, and glasses with no lenses. Just like you guys have chav's who dress/act a certain way, we call these guys Chads haha. It's just my light-hearted opinion. Nothing elitist about it.

Training wheels? It's physics.

Well, I'm pretty sure who the real uns are and it's not the douches on the longboards, but it certainly isn't the people hating
either.

I was such a skate rat in middle school, but I stopped after I broke my only deck in a city I was living in that had no skateshops. I should really start again now that I'm back in civilization, I found an old deck in my garage, but every time I go out I end up sore for the next week
I wonder if I can find any old pictures... I wasn't bad haha
