the way the whole movie disintegrates after the hammer scene is amazing, it's like ripples sent through the rest of the film where the plot, the camera style, the characters all just become fucked.
and the dinner scenes are fucking amazing, the script is top notch, the way that tension builds and drops, one minute their smashing each other over the head the next they are reminiscing about the good old times together and it all feels natural, never contrived.
I was slightly disappointed with the very end, probably because I just watched A Serbian Movie not long before. i am, however, perfectly happy to not have a clue what the fuck was going on a lot of the time, made the atmosphere ridiculously harsh like I couldn't breathe or something.
The director's first movie Down Terrace is great too.
'I jut want to say thank you, I'm glad to have met you'
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.
