I fucking hate all house music, never heard a tune i liked. To me, it's the worst genre of electronic music , worse then europop, hardcore, gabber, brostep or juke. I don't even care if it "stemmed" some of the music i like today (i dont know if it did or it didn't but someone will always chime in with this) it's shit to me and i hate it.

Whuuuuut, if i think it's bad and i don't enjoy it, no amount of opening my mind up will help? Some people like being pissed on, you might find it inherently unenjoyable and no matter how much you experience it or are told it's good, you might still it fight it to be unenjoyable.

By the way, i do like some gabber, brostep and juke, i just know many don't as to convey my unpopular opinion.

...agree with this mainly because house is a ridiculously diverse genre, there's bound to be a house track for everyone

not liking something because you have experienced all it has to offer is different to not liking something based off of an incomplete experience of it

i 'dont like' prawns when i eat too many of them or they're prepared in a certain way but i also enjoy them in small amounts and in certain ways also, it comes by allowing yourself to experience what something can offer in as many different ways as you can

peoples judgements of music are rated as valid or invalid based on their experience with that music - so when Youngsta tells you he's got a special dubplate ready for the show you all expect it to be dope cos you trust his opinion based on his history and experience

when someone goes 'oh i hate House cos its just boring dancey stuff' the correct response shouldn't be scorn; it should be bemusement.

uk funky is more of a descendent of uk garage (which came from house 20 years ago and has thus differed from it greatly)

I know a decent amount about garage by now because of some documentaries and lots of interne digging, but not much about UK Funky - it's sort of a cousin of house yeah? This doesn't sound particularly funky lol

theres funky house and theres uk funky. uk funky is a cousin of uk garage, which is a cousin of house (that has since become a pretty distant cousin), while funky house like a sister of "regular" house
