Re: Xphixiate - Wings Of Death (Dubstep)
some of the midrange wobbles sound a bit muddy, especially when there are those repeating kick fills underneath. nice melody and structure. i like the apreg breakdown in the middle. good job over all
Re: Xphixiate - Wings Of Death (Dubstep)
Thank you for the advice I really appreciate it! I should probably use more high pass filters when I do those repeating kick fills so its not so cluttered, just trying to get that double bass metal feel to it, I'm glad you liked it manxstatic wrote:some of the midrange wobbles sound a bit muddy, especially when there are those repeating kick fills underneath. nice melody and structure. i like the apreg breakdown in the middle. good job over all

The kick needs a LOT more weight. Uncertain about the part at 1:26. It doesn't do well playing solo. Nor does the arp in the break.
Got some great ideas there, just needs a better mixdown and some more consistency in the overall flow. Keep at it!

I agree about the kick and yea it kind goes back an forth between heavy an trancey but I guess i kinda liked that about it
Thanks for the advice! Still trying to hone my sound in!

Re: Xphixiate - Wings Of Death (Dubstep)
Straight off the bat it won't be my sort of thing but i will give it a go.
The sound design is ok not sure about the lead line on the intro, sounds to me a bit meeeh.Maybe some effects to make it shine in the mix a bit more,it just sounds flat. The mid range sounds are all well and good, they have a good flow subtle rather than all over the place.I do like the appeg on the breakdown, nice programming.
The drums are ok,could do with bringing out in the mix a bit more, again they just sound a bit dry and unprocessed. The programming is good and definitely has a sort of metal feel to it especially the kik and tom rolls.
Like i said its not really my thing but is a pretty decent track, sound design on a whole is pretty strong and the mix sounds pretty well balanced.
