Hey everyone, loving the site, real clean and has some good features.

I go by the alias of Tripl3 (said "Triple Three")

I'm a 20 year old Dubstep/House/EDM DJ from Newcastle, England who has been mixing for around 4 year, but I've only really started taking this seriously over the past 6/7 month.

I have released a couple of mixes on Soundcloud which seem to have gotten a pretty good response.

I'm just looking at breaking into the local club scene and hopefully nail a few gigs.

Look forward to meeting everyone on here.

Triple.

Hi everyone.

I'm new here and fell in love with dubstep very recently. I had heard it before but fell in love when I went to my first show about ten days ago.

Four days ago I downloaded the FL Studios demo and have been getting better everyday (spending every hour of free time on it). I've lurked a bit on this forum to get some ideas and to figure out more about the software. I dinked around with it for a couple days. Now I'm in the middle of creating my first song and it's probably taken a total of fifteen hours and I don't see myself wrapping it up for at least five more.

The thing is, I'm not even sure if I can call it dubstep? I've read all about the specifications of the genre. I was trying to make sure I was creating a dubstep song. The further I've come with this project the more I've realized that I don't care if people don't reognize it as dubstep. I made it and if it sounds good, call it what you want.

When I get the extra cash to actually purchase the software, I'll post my first song and see what you guys think.

I'd like to become a part of this comunity and continue to learn more. I have some questions for all of you; about the use of turntables and other hardwares as well as aditional software (not to mention getting more familiar with FL Studios).

Other than that I live in Portland Oregon, I'm 23 and I've never come across anything that has held my attention like this has.

ps. I've heard a lot about the newer style of dubstep being called brostep. Who would you say is producing this? Excision? Skrillex? If so, I have no problem with it lol. Excision's preformance at my first live show was what had me falling in love with dubstep.

Yeah the artist you mentioned would be considered brostep. Its the more screechy side of things. I go to school in Eugene, so you're not too far off.
