Production Techniques

Post by Jaxx281 » Fri Jul 06, 2012 10:24 pm

Hi all,

I have been reading these forums for a good while now and am a massive fan of the genre. I have wanted to get involved in this forum for a while but have always felt there is a bit of a "clique" and am not sure when to get involved! I often read threads and think I would like to comment but think as newbie I may not be considered worthy haha.

I have been producing for about 8 months now, I don't have a particular style and I enjoy everything from the sub heavy Digital Mystikz to the more commercial and lairy Knife Party. To be honest up until I started getting into production I had no idea the level of detail that went into it and my attitude to the music and genre has changed so much in the last year. Although I may be new to this era I hope that with an open thread like this I can at least start a conversation with a few people and start discussing the music I love best and actually get involved with topics rather than be a browser.

I am happy to share the production techniques I have learned so far and screenshots from my work but first would like to at least say hello to the peers I will be communicating with!

Best regards,
Paul (Jaxx)

Cheers guys! I'm using FL Studio at the moment, haven't really looked at much else to be honest so far it has done everything I need it to do. Plugins wise I bought Massive a while back and picked up FM8 in a sale a few weeks ago so have just started playing around with that. Also recently bought an AKAI MIDI keyboard and some KRK Rokit RP6's. My laptop processor is beginning to struggle now I have more going on in the tunes though so think I may have to invest in something hefty soon!

What about yourself what are you using?

If you're having troubles running bigger projects on your laptop try bouncing bits of midi down to audio :) or record heavy FX you are using to audio.
