@Sinestepper: Had to lay down a comment on that track you had posted. The percussion was beautiful and I really enjoyed the mix. The bass usage with the jelly-wobbles was a creative niche. Great work. You have a new follower. :h:

@rymebox: Good work on the mix of the drums. The snare in the intro has a bit to much treble on it but that's about all I have to complain about. Nice work on the drop and solid sound design.

@mthfnk: The mix of Real Life is solid. The percussion at the begginning is neat (note my comment on the track xD). The track overall isn't something you'd necessarily club to. However, I would love to play this on a road trip. Reminds me a bit of old Deadmau5. The vocal snippets bring the track to life as well. Some critiques, The synth that comes in on the second drop seems a bit loud to me. Variate the track a bit and add some more detail (fx, subtle changeups). It was overall a Solid tune.

@Glyphex Love it, dark gritty with a nice beat.

@rymebox Feels really Skrilly :p bit of a long intro maybe cut it down a bit but other than that nice high pass and bass :)

@krinj agree with some of the comments the guys have made, some mastering heavily needed but overall nice work can't wait to hear the finished product.

Right this is the first tune i'm really really pleased with that i've made and i'm thinking it might be good enough to send about to a few dj's to try and get plays, i do still think its a bit wishy washy around the edges but really don't know where to go to with it i've used all my best skills haha, any feedback, tips, tricks, whats you would change, anything ad everything welcome :) also let me know whether you think it's good enough to get played on radio :)

Cheers! :)

@arrenmog please give feedback to atleast three people first that said i like what you have so far real minimal dungeon vibe maybe even a bit to minimal towards the second part try some more drum changes more occasional claps or some backwards reeces just to add something to keep it moving but so far really promising

@rymebox: good work on the overall design, big rave sound. cool snare

@Glyphex: dark groove is dark! that noise in the atmosphere is legitimate. safe sound

@take2: creative bits in this, i dig the rawness of this tune but not a big fan of excessive glitch.

All designs show potential, i cant really say more; im new.

Something i just started and it turned out so great that i have to show it to you guys... What do you think? I think I am going to use heavy subbass and reeses to underline the heavy guitar in the track; also i am going to try to keep the original composition as much as possible:
Soundcloud

@take2: First one is great! Needs a bit more variation but that's pretty sick
2nd one is pretty good too, but i would change that gate pattern, it sounds soooo generic.

@Arrenmog: nice atmosphere, the only thing i can criticize here is that the shaker in the intro maybe could use some reverb, it feels so "small"

Hey guys. I was hoping to get some feedback on this one. I need some ideas on how to do the intro. I like it just dry but I dunno if it needs music too.

RymeBox - I was really impressed with your basswork but I could have used a bit more of a knock from that snare.

Glyphex - your mix sounds great and clear. very pleasant to listen to and I love the chord of that pad too!

BTW ppl, I posted a track before I responded to three people but I got three now so I hope you won't ban me or something. I definitely will be commenting a lot more.

Oh and is there a way to respond to multiple people in one post without having to copy down all their names and song titles?

Thanks for the feedback guys appreciate it.

@Craggle love the old slow hip hop beat, i really could just chill out with a phat zeut on that track lol

@Instep The atmosphere in there is brill, the bass hits out of nowhere lol i like but cud do with some depth in it. good work.

@Reversed i agree with @UVOZ feeling it, add some guitar or pads into it.

Heres one of mine i'm still working on :-

@rymebox: Sick tune man! I don't know what else to say :D
@Glyphex: That beautiful souls track, I like those dark wobbles at the beginning. This type of track isn't what i usually listen so can't really say much about it. Overally nice feeling
@UVOZ: Deep deep deep. Those percussions sound nice, really digging that ride at near the end of the track :W:

Here's mine, Started as a deep track but after trying to add some mids it just went like this. The bassline is always my biggest worry so any ideas/thoughts about it are welcome too.

@take2

Hoyl shit dude. I am so jealous of your sounds. How did you make the screech sound in the beginning? Also do you mind giving me some help on kick drum mixing?

As for criticism I think that some of the samples were to a-melodic for my taste. I'd say autotune some of those bad boys into the mix more. And one of the vocal samples sounds like one skrillex always uses.

(oh and I still don't know how to reply so for now I'm just putting "@name" for now since thats what everyone seems to be doing)

@rymebox - I like the song quite a bit and the structuring is done really well. Everything sounds good and if I had to make any suggestions it would be to maybe mix the sub bass a little bit louder underneath all those midrange bass sounds. Other than that, I definitely dig the tune! Nice work man.

@Instep - The song you uploaded is sick!!! I love the groove in your bassline a lot and the mixing sounds nice as well. I always like to get down to minimal shit like you posted. If I could make a recommendation, the only thing I could really pick out is that your snare is a little quiet. Maybe try to add a little sparkle to the snare by layering a clap underneath, or just bring the snare up in the mix a slight bit so it hits a bit more. I'm looking forward to hearing a finished version of this song. =]

@MaZa1 - I like the drums in your song a lot. The bassline sounds like it could use a little work though, maybe have a go with layering sounds together and sequencing your bassline with other bass sounds. Also the bass sounds like its mixed a little quiet, try to bring your sub up to around the same level as the kick, then if you split your mids you can bring those up gradually until it fits nicely underneath the drums. Getting a big bass sound IMO is all about resampling, layering sounds, sequencing those sounds together, and splitting your frequencies into lows/mids/highs. If you learn to master those techniques, then it will be a big improvement on your workflow, and your bassline will thank you with grimey goodness =p. Definitely spend time learning about compression and limiting as well, because those have a dramatic effect on how your bass will hit with your drums.

Anyways, my new WIP is in my signature, I think the drop section with the rising effect could use some work, but i'd still love everyone elses feedback on this song. I've been in and out of the studio working on this one for a few weeks and I am just starting to get somewhere with this tune. =]
My latest WIP (Feedback is GREATLY appreciated)

Sick tune! Agreed on the rise effect needing a bit more emphasis; Also you might want to try a Bandreject filter on that main synth in the drop (the one that has that pitchbend at the release)
Heavy influence from Nights in Bangalore from Varien right? ;)

Gotta admit i didn't fully read the rules but i'll do it now :)

@Craggle - really liking this man you've got the purple vibe down i couldn't do any where near this good, one thing i would say, the hi hats do sound sick nothing like hi hat rolls reminds me of a few dark tantrums tunes but they sound a bit harsh when theres so many close together maybe reduce the volume or something just to make it abit less hissy, its still so sick though :)

@instep - it really doesnt feel like there enough low mid on your 'wobbles' for lack of a better word, maybe you've over eqed them so they dont clash with the sub, i would suggest just boosting around sort of 100-200 just to make it feel more whole, alternatively add another bass sound to fill this space, plus this will add diversity.

@Uvoz - your mid range growly bass sounds crazy i'm really liking what youve done there, one point im not so keen on is your drums, to me the hi hats are abit to tingy if you know what i mean, lots of hi end kind of, and the snare sounds really floppy and kind of cheesy, i dont know if thats what you were going for but i'd maybe suggest replacing the snare at least, the hi hats arnt so bad but i'm not feeling the snare.

i'll just repost mine as well just incase anyone judged me before and didnt comment because of it haha :)

@ rymebox: Heavy track man. I really dig the house vibes, the builds are awesome
@ take2: The glitched vocals are sweet. Bass hits hard, but gets a little to repetitive for my taste. Nice work!
@Uvoz: That track is trippy as hell. The panning on the midrange bass works well I think.

Something new, Looking for opinions, tried a new method of creating my drops, I'm not sure if Im happy with the short builds, I may try something different there

@ ArrenMog

Big fan of the intro atmosphere, nice and dark and evil just how I like it. Oh damn, yes I'm feeling this. I was hoping it would go this route when it dropped!
Everything works so damn well together, lovely depth. the mid bass is subtle enough but on point. Not one thing I can pick at here, I actually love it. :Q:

@ Reversed

Take out the sample and hold and bitcrush aaaaaaaah!, with some nice dark mid bass used sparingly this would work so much better. Sub is a bit too intense on my side. I do like the drums I'm a big fan of percussion as well so I'm digging that side of it. All the other elements fit well in my opinion just the sub and mid bass need a bit of a check on. :W:

@ Altron

This is exactly the kind of wobbly stuff I actually dig, Everything works well. Drums are spot mid bass is perfect atmosphere is there and it is conjuring different realms.
Really digging this, not one thing I can say bad if I am honest. Makes me feel like a complete noob though  :W:

Decided to give a bit of Drum & Bass a go, my subs really giving me grief lately so the bottom end might be a bit funky if it is let me know. any feedback appreciated!
