i don't think many people would buy his cd. the whole point is to see and experience it live, like a street performance.

as i said, not saying its bad or anything, just overrated

maybe not where you're from tho, but here he seems quite popular with the same kind of people that send me links to modestep saying "hey you like dubstep you will probably like this" (which admittedly didnt help me take the guy too seriously)

The reasons in that article describe most cartoons.

ed edd & eddy
beautiful chronicling of three suburban youth, shot in short vignettes often depicting various schemes of theirs, often which end poorly.

There's something a little unsettling about grown men having a an obsession with cartoons aimed at little girls.
I leave this here so you can see what I'm getting at

people keep saying it's aimed at little girls... who cares?

i think it's odd to make the fact you like a show into this huge thing and call yourself a "brony", like lol, jesus christ, but there's something just strange about the fact you think people SHOULDN'T like it because it's aimed at "little girls". if they liked a cartoon aimed at "little boys" would that be better?

there's something really fucking disturbing about the extent to which shit for kids is gendered. like, seriously. in real life, almost NOBODY thinks kids should be or are as gender divided as the companies who make toys and shit for kids do.

and not only that, but that anything that's not explicitly for either gender is basically for boys; something explicitly "for boys" can be enjoyed by girls far more easily than can something explicitly "for girls" be enjoyed by boys.

can't help thinking there's something a bit unsettlingly heteronormative about that... females are "permitted" to transgress their gender norms far more than males are. at the same time, explicit femininity is looked upon far less favourably than explicit masculinity, especially when expressed or associated with by a male.

i just think it's interestingggggg

It is. Have you ever compared magazines/comics aimed at young boys and young girls? It's pretty much acceptable and catered for for boys to get interested in anything they want... girls are still only really being pushed shopping, dating and general "prettiness" advice. The divide is well in place before anyone's grown up enough to shout about it.

Regular Show. Although there are enough moments in that to show who it's REALLY aimed at (4:20 references, monkey mouth raping frog video references, etc.)

I'm sorry but I don't go for cutesy stupid bullshit like that. It doesn't have anything to do with genders or age. It's just not remotely entertaining to me. Doesn't mean that I care if people watch it or not but...

Then add in the annoying fandom that goes with it and it just makes me hate it. "Bronies" bring on themselves. If I started referencing the original 80s Thundercats cartoons in everything I did just because I liked it everyone would think I was fucking retarded or something.
