well yeah, obviously you aren't going to label it "all-CDJs" because CDJs aren't cool but vinyl is.

i'm all for people keeping vinyl alive, loving the medium but bragging about it gets real tired real quick. just get on with selecting the music ffs. that's what it's about.

I agree but I don't think it's bragging/taking it too far just to label the mix as all vinyl, indicating that vinyl is the medium you used for the mix

if it wasn't bragging, what would be point of advertising it as vinyl only? It's like saying your car performs better than mine because it's red and not blue.

i agree to a point, but I think people that are passionate about vinyl wanna declare their love and support for it.

I also think that, if you declare it all vinyl, it says "I loved all these tunes enough to pay lots of money for them"...and where it's DJs that get sent lots of tunes (empefrees), it's saying "I'm not just playing any old shit someone cool just sent me ten minutes ago that I haven't really listened to yet".

yea ive always wanted to get into producing properly, just dont have the resources or time (or money for that matter).

taking an audio-engineering course next year though so atleast i'll be able to mix/master

I think I read you use hd-25s for DJing? Yeah well a decent pair of cans and a good DAW are all you need to get you to hit the ground running as far as production goes

Let's not diss MAINZ, I know four guys who've worked at that place at one time or another who are quality engineers. Moving right along here's some advice, your principal aim at SAE should be to network and to get as much studio time in as you possibly can, if you know anyone in a band or the like then become very friendly with them before your course starts. You don't have to do that, you can just keep your head down, do the work and pass the course but you'll be missing out on a lot if you do.

haha, nah i know a few people who have moved through there and havent liked it.... but you are right, it is all about networking.
