Snare tutorial (using FM8)

Post by TecksMusic » Mon Jul 09, 2012 3:57 pm

I recently made a tutorial using FM8 and a 909 sample I've taken from my Roland TD-9 V-drum module.
This is to show the way I do it and hopefully some of you'll learn something from it.

The only thing you really need to buy is FM8 for this one.
I used other plugins too, but you could use alternatives for them (for the compressor + limiter).

This is the first time I made a screen captured tutorial, I hope everything is clear, if not, don't hesitate to ask me questions ofcourse.

Thanks!
You mean samples of the end result?

I do, but I'm not sharing that, for two reasons:
1) you should learn to create them on your own
2) I didn't buy my copy of FM8 to share my results with it for free. (although I do if you follow the tutorial and own FM8 yourself)

If your method is using samples you find around I respect that, but in the end I really want to encourage people to create their own snaresound.
I used a sample myself (the 909 sample from my drum module) so it's not that I'm against using samples.

I'll probably make another tutorial with Massive pretty soon and maybe tutorials on how to get a decent kick with FM8/Massive.
