Re: James Blake edit/Untitled choon
the original i like very much. the synths are exactly my favourite type. drumwork is also flawless. mixdown is lush. wouldn't seek for much else in a good tune. as a musical piece also a very working one.
the james blake rework sound gud also. good selection of drum samples and nice programming. i can't remember what the original sounds like but if the chord progression is by you then good going. amazing anyway.

Untitled is great. Besides for being a tad bit repetitive, I cant find any flaws with it.
Yamez is nice as well, I don't find it at all repetitive either. love the chord progression.

Re: James Blake edit/Untitled choon
I'd say that Untitled is possibly the best I've heard. It's definitely up there! It has everything that a great track should have, the synth is great and a relaxing beat. It's a great chilled track! I wish I could make things like that.
Yamez is also lovely to listen to. I also love the beat of it.

Re: James Blake edit/Untitled choon
Cheers guys, glad you're feeling the tunes. Yeah, the chord progression is my own, only parts I imitated were the rhythm of the snare and original melody of one of the arpeggios.
What exactly is it that's repetitive? Bassline? Drums? Maybe even the whole thing?
Think it's solvable by adding new things in? More variations?
Thanks again guys.
Any other details that could be revised anyone?

Re: James Blake edit/Untitled choon
around 1:55 a new element could be introduced, maybe something to foreshadow the change up at 2:18, as it comes a little suddenly imo.
Re: James Blake edit/Untitled choon
Sick track dude, only thing i would recommend on the first one is just lack of bass? like some real heavy sub-bass might sound cool, but i like it, very smooth

Really? Thought there was a lot of that. None on the second though.elyhess wrote:Sick track dude, only thing i would recommend on the first one is just lack of bass? like some real heavy sub-bass might sound cool, but i like it, very smooth
I guess I've still got plenty of headroom so a little boost won't hurt.
Thanks for the shout!
