Robot Funk (Glitch Hop/Dubstep/106)

Post by GregLongman » Tue Jul 10, 2012 9:17 pm

Hey guys, hope you're all good.

After getting slated for stupidly posting a shite song in the wrong forum on here I decided it would probably be for the best that I stayed away and carried on working on my production instead of trying to get as many songs on SoundCloud as I could. I have been working on some Glitch Hop/Dubstep stuff lately. I'm actually not sure what to call it to be honest, I've been listening to Koan SOUND and Kill The Noise a hell of a lot lately so I decided to try and make some 106bpm stuff of my own. Any and all feedback is very welcome.

Thanks very much,

Greg.

Nothing wrong with the overall sound of the tune, it's a proper mixdown and the bass/drums combo is flowing together nicely. However the tune feels like it doesn't have any real structure, there's no sense of progression when listening to it. Maybe consider learning more about song structure and switching up your melodies a bit. But other than that it sounds really nice, especially that later part which has a really good bounce to it :D
Keep it up!

As TeRRo said, the overall sound of the tune is great, it has this gritty, raspy vibe to it but that Glitch Hop soul. Though I agree, I feel as if the song is giving me what I want to hear right away... it feels good, it sounds good, but the adventure in my ears and mind is completed far quicker than I personally wanted it to be. I have a problem too with going all out right away (that's what she said? haha) but in all seriousness, I dig it man. Keep it up and keep producing... I'm brand spanking new too and constantly learning/teaching myself.

Wow! Thanks dudes! Thanks for leaving feedback in the much detail. I sincerely appreciate it. It needs fattening and perhaps some arrangement tweaks here and there and I will get that done ASAP.

I'm thinking I should make the intro a bit longer and tease a little. Add a few new transitions too. Thanks for listening, I'll post V2.0 up here soon along with my other new stuff.

Thanks!

Greg.

This is a sick track definately see what you mean with the kill the noise vibes, just titely produced overall, drum work is particularly nice! I would just say structure work too!
