Resampling Question

I'm a little confused what resampling does, if I add distortion to a synth will it sound different to a synth resampled and distortion added to the sample? I put that weird but i think u guys will get what i mean

quite a misleading statement

sure if you want to be boring, the only purpose is to save cpu, but when you start chopping things up, making new start/end points, duplicating phrases with crazy LFOS that were spitting out random sweeps that are no longer random, you'll realize the true potential of resampling. And yea, its useful even for reason users with recycle...

resampling is to save cpu/ram in some cases, but it's also primarily to render new modulation possibilities when you say have a nuts bassline modulation wise so you can effect it more modulate more or chop up said audio and do what i just said more
it's basically working in audio, or when you have something that you want to edit more, but nondestructive editing won't just cut it anymore
