I love house music. Just don't put the words funky or progressive before it ;)

Haha. I remember being a record shop with Derrick Carter listening to some "garage" and he was like "oh right, in Chicago we call this house"

effin love so much new house music coming out now. mostly what i guess is sometimes referred to as blog house. that and what little i've been able to scrape up from j3di. anyway, for me it's sort of all post garage, new bmore, dirty dancefloor and mostly about the hip remix.

I love house, however, finding hard to find decent stuff these days. Too much pigeon holing.

Actually, I'm getting bored of a lot of it though which is gutting. Too many DJs either play the minimal sound that is boring (who wants to cheer a key change?) or totally camp soulful stuff.....I love soulful stuff but not just any old crap.

I used to like funky house, when it was also known as US house.

Osunlade - now there is a good DJ.

I blame the cocaine epidemic for the drop in standard - many people seem to go clubbing for all out carnage now rather than just for the music and being changed up in a club doesn't really mean you have much interest in the music. This is in my opinion of course but I do think it's a valid claim.

I know about 10 types of House (from years of keeping up with Juno.co.uk)...

the only types I can groove to are Soulful & Deep House, and possibly some Electro House on a Breaks night. :D

Standardly!

House is the ancester of all dance music, the foundations of many many scenes .... gotta have some love and respect for it!

I like it Acid! 88-89 baby!

Nowdays tho, i like it deep, and i like minimal tech house and electro house ...

chek this tune! (Claude Vonstroke - Whos afraid of Detriot?)

^^Now, Decibella, that is an absolutely superb tune there. Earlier in the thread, I was having a whinge about the standard of dance these days but that one was exempt. It's the second track on Tiefschwarz's Fabric Mix (check it out if you haven't already).

Best tune of last year in my opinion: haunting, catchy and bassy - Stanton Warriors have remixed it also and that's available on vinyl.

I am totally convinced it would make a fantastic dubstep remix too....Anyone out there able to try it? You able to persuade anyone to do so?

SILLYILLY DEEP AND MINIMAL!

Wow this tune really kicks ass! Been getting a bit further into minimal stuff recently, Jan Jelinek, Murcoff, Gas, Isolee, some of Pole's material. Some crossing over to experimental shiznitz. Clikhouse / Click electronica FTW!

Jan Jelinek: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOQYpZDF_Y0

Isolee: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y66nvB-PvZQ

Also check out this badboy:

- The guy's name is Louie Austen, he's from austria and sings stuff by Ratpack, his tracks got reworked by electronic music producers and the outcome is awesome.

There's also this group called Whirlpool Productions - really great house with some bad singing.

Louis Austen. Legend. I saw him live at Fabric in Room One years ago.

I never thought I'd be at Fabric singing New York, New York and That's Life....He was a real showman though. When he finished singing, Lee Burridge and Craig Richards starting banging it out.

'Hoping' - check that out of his if you can. Aaah, just seen you posted the vid for this. It's the Matthew Herbert remix that I love though.

Didnt know Stanton warriors did a remix ... gotta find that, whats it sayin? (hate to be sceptical but i doubt it will beat the original!)

I am planning on doing a remix with my good friend who makes beats and had kindly offered me some sessions in the studio, when he gets back from exit festival so no-one jump on it! lol
