^^ very possible... but more likely going to be done from straining too hard while moving heavy objects, not taking a shit while constipated

Sonika, not to be rude or anything but you clearly have no idea about this.Sonika wrote:Electric_Head wrote:Sonika wrote: Yeah it is a bit messed up, but it's the whole "one settler one bullet" mentality - the afrikaaners and the Brits fucked over all the blacks for years, so now that they're in power, they're going to be pissed. Your post above shows it.
Apartheid was wrong, but Affirmative action is Apartheid and racism flipped 180.
My generation had nothing to do with apartheid yet we have to suffer endlessly.
The black people have been in power since 92-93.
That's almost 20 years.
They have managed to fuck everything up and have totally destroyed our countries economy by being thieving, money hungry, crooks.
No I'm not talking about all black south African citizens, so don't misinterpret my statement.
Government as a hole has failed this country on every level.
The minority pay for the majority which can only lead to a failed country.
If you discuss this topic with many black people, they agree.
In fact, I have been told by many black South Africans that they would prefer the government to be run by White politicians.
Even though they were treated badly during apartheid, they all had jobs and better living conditions than they have now.
Sex education, family planning, skills development, etc. were all very important many years ago.
All of this has fallen to the way side because of the mentality.
More kids means a larger government grant.
If after 20 years, we are still hanging on to the past then we're destined to fail as a country.
The unions for one, are a large part of creating racism in this country.
They pit the black people against the white people on a daily basis.
Any failure in the affirmative action system is blamed on racist white people.
Which is exactly what has happened with this women.
Rather than focus on her inability to do a basic task, they blame our racist mentality.

Well put.kidshuffle wrote: This woman is quite obviously unqualified for the job, regardless of race. Does the woman deserve a shot at an interview (unlike in the apartheid era)? Yes for sure. Does that mean she deserves immunity on the job for being black african? Hell no. Affirmative action should only be there to give peoples a shot who have been kept down by previous races/regimes/etc. It should be there to help educate people like this woman so they can get good paying jobs, not just throwing them into any job. It would be like throwing you on a welding site, and telling some dude to teach you everything he knows because fuck you thats why.

I was in boarding school for a year.Sonika wrote: Well I'm under my parents thumb 24/7 sooo
BUT next year I'll get to know because I'm going to boarding school for high school
When you get there you'll miss your parents and the freedom you had.
Then you return home and realize how much better it is at home.
Well dependent on your living environment I guess.
My step-father is a state prosecutor and hit me through the face when he bust me with weed.
He only cared about himself and how it would look to his colleagues.
I carried on smoking and eventually moved out when I was old enough.
But through all that, I still preferred home life to boarding school.
Not because boarding school sucked but purely because your freedom is seriously limited when you're in a boarding school.
I mean, I used to slip out every night and go get stoned as a mofo, return home and just be stoned in front of the TV.
I could never of done that in boarding school.

Re: The things that pissed you off today ™ thread
I was not a part of affirmative action.
To me, the point is valid.
I have a 12yr old son who will probably not be able to get a job even after he's been to Uni n what not.
We are therefore suffering under a new apartheid regime.

Okay well you obviously know more than I do on this subject, and I have no right to type erudite philosophies about the state of south Africa from the other side of the world when you're actually there living in it, so I'll shut up.
I've always been interested in south africa because my grandmother grew up there and then she and my grandfather went back and started a charity in a township which I got to visit - it was a bit of a shock to come from private school upper middle class mentality to see people living out of shacks they had built from spare cardboard pieces and playing soccer with cow bladders because they cant afford a ball
That entire story was a complete non sequitur. Point is, I had no idea that affirmative action had become such a regime in south africa

That may be, but I think I'm going to enjoy boarding school more than home life. It was my choice to go, and I think I need a break from my parents and they need a break from me.
