Right a country that has a half trillion dollars worth of dope smuggled in a year is going to have a problem circumventing gun control. Don't be stupid. Mexico would just start smuggling guns in along with every other illegal thing Americans want.

Also a school of thought that if this had happened in say Texas where concealed handguns are legal this prick would have been dead ten seconds in.

Gun control doesn't stop gun violence many countries have proven this. We can't put Pandora back in the box regarding the existence of guns.

.
They guy was layered up in kevlar and riot gear witha gas mask and he came in to a dark cinema throwing tear gas and shotguning people so I wouldnt say that is strictly true.

One of the victims names was released and then people have found her on twitter.Reading the few hours before the film and then her friends trying to get in contact with her is pretty rough.

This is the Twitter account of the first named victim.

https://twitter.com/darrelrubin Here is a friend trying to get in contact with her.

Gunman was a 24yo White Male, he gave up without resistance and they still have the FBI and Bomb Squad at his apartment looking for a supposed bomb.

Vests cover less than 35% of your body and a shot to a vest would incapacitate most people

My point was a war on guns would likely be as effective as the war on drugs given we border a laregely lawless country

well, the guns are going in the other direction ATM, which is contributing to slaughter in mexico. perhaps y'all should be controlling guns more so that fewer of them end up in mexico.

Generally if I need milk and the store a mile away is closed I simply go a block up to the next one

As long as I have the money someone will sell me milk

Damn, it's amazing how quickly people hop on to something like this and start to spread rumours... who's first thought when reading something like this is "Cool, I'll go on the Internet and tell everyone it was an Arab with an Iranian flag! Yeah, that's what I'll do with my day!" :|

It was Colorado. One of the pastiest places on the planet.

I think most people though of columbine and other white serial gunman. Outside Virginia tech most mass gunmen are white

Yeah, the person who made that up (could be a white iranian sympathiser tbf) was successful for a few hours. I'd be pretty chuffed that a rumor i started spread around the world, in all honesty, no matter how terrible.

I started a rumour last year that Tiesto had died in a car crash. Bit dumb, in hindsight.

i respect your opinion pkay, but I really have no idea how anyone can think banning guns would possibly ever be a bad thing.

Of course, if you really want one you're able to get one anyway, but that's really not a reason to not bother banning them, is it?

I know this is something that's close to your heart, and you're not the type of fella to be swayed on what you believe in...but fucking hell, mate. It's a lot more difficult for a psycho to get kitted up over here, and I'd say - whilst not eliminating them - it reduces the chances of it happening considerably.

Yeah?.
I dont respect the oppinion at all and find it a lot more than appaling to feel the need to go on about it in this context. Its not a social study - its a tragedy goin on right now.

Fuck you.

I don't think it would be a bad thing. Just ineffective.

We have massive borders here and an ineffective government to the south.

I'm sorry you're incapable of reading about a news event and then discussing it.

Perhaps a discussion forum let alone snh. Is not for you

I hope that they don't blame the film. This is so sad, seeing photos of the people in Batman t-shirts/costumes. All they wanted to do was watch a movie...

Even if they could get guns in to the country they're only going to be sold on the black market and for a dramatic price increase.

Would you buy milk off a dodgy guy in an abandoned house for 3 times it's orginal worth?

I'd probably buy a cow and start selling my own tbh.
