Most people who get handgun licenses have experience with guns. Most people who would return fire aren't unprepared for situations like this as they're ex cops or ex military. You're taught to shoot only what you can kill. I ain't see a licensed carrier randomly spraying bullets. A lot of the defense incidents in Texas have been one shot one.kills in public places with no innocents harmed. Air marshals receive similar crowded confines training
We weren't talking about trained people we are talking about average joe's that have been through whatever they needed to go through to get a concealed licence.
80 million gun owners in America and you think the majority have appropriate training?
You need to educate yourself on a topic before you talk about it
We are talking about handguns which are a fraction of the existing firearms in the USA. Then we are talking about concealed handguns of which only a few states authorize.

very hard to say why ppl go nuts like this. or even how much it was planned vs spur of moment.
clearly if ppl go nuts and only have access to knifes, they will on average kill fewer ppl.

(luckily?) i have managed to check out a few different spots in the USA. You see a massive difference in mentality and views in each spot. Salt Lake City for example is a world away from New York, and Denver - well, sorry to say, was there last year, shit hole, compared to Seattle or San Fran. its a crazy place 'Merica is.

well, he obviously didn't go to see the film and then change his mind.
but when exactly did he become so unhinged? it's less obvious.

What has the number of handguns got to do with anything. I posted 80 million gun owners there are 250m actual firearms.
But you're talking about extending that number of states because then those people in Denver aren't dead and some air marshall or something is the fucking hero.
Logical jumps much. What specific training is required for a concealed licence and how does it assist those that would have been in a position to prevent last nights murders?

US mass shootings
Nov 2009: US Army psychiatrist Maj Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly kills 13 people at the Fort Hood base in Texas.
April 2009: Vietnamese immigrant Jiverly Wong, 41, shoots dead 13 people at a New York state immigration centre.
March 2009: After compiling a "hit list", Michael McLendon, 28, kills 10 people, including his mother and uncle, in two Alabama towns.
April 2007: South Korean student Seung-Hui Cho, 23, guns down 27 fellow students and five staff at Virginia Tech university.
July 1999: Stock trader Mark Barton, 44, shoots his wife and two children at his Atlanta, Georgia home then kills nine in city's business district.

The problem with guns is that they make it very easy to kill lots of people in a short space of time with no effort/skill/strength
Banning them would in no way make America a more dangerous place to be. The idea that their ubiquitous presence somehow lowers their inherent danger is just absolute tosh.
It's a logical fallacy.

If you stop to help theres a good chance you'll end up with a knife in you

If you aren't willing to get knifed to protect a woman you're kind of a coward aren't you?
Fundamental difference in some folks I guess.

I'm not talking about me, but that's the reason why people in this country generally don't intervene in muggings/attacks.
If the point he was trying to make is that if everyone should be armed so they can fight crime, then it was a ridiculous one

Nope guns aren't for everyone and why there's a screening process and classes.
I live in Texas and don't own or carry a gun.
I'm sure there were heroes in that shooting who died protecting others be it kids or women. My point is what would have happened if folks like that would have been a le to cc
I'm not agreeing or disagreeing just presenting the question
