Precisely my good man :w: :4:

But, it is how to make this certain sound. So I think 'How to make the Gold Dust synth' is better than 'How to side chain in Massive'. Because thats what i originally set out to do :)

Eh? i just watched the video and i didn't see sidechaining involved at all. :? The main character of the sound comes from the tuning, in particular the first oscillator pitched up an octave and a minor third, creating a minor third chord of sorts.

Anyway, good tutorial. :Q:

Why do you write Flux Pavilion if it's Dj Fresh's ?
Flux only remixed it

Yeah, eh? On this thread it says Dj Fresh. On the video it says both Fresh and Flux, so if someone was looking to replicate the remix, they would find the same video. Hope this clears things up. :?

I expected some tutorial on Flux's midrange bass but this was actually quite funny to watch

I don't know about that. When I saw the words "DJ Fresh" and "Gold Dust" I did automatically think of the lead "chord" sound.

The whole mid range thing has been done to death IMO. Anyone who has been doing this for any amount of time will know its a case of FM/Reese basslines with careful filter/distortion work as well as resampling and layering. There's about a hundred and one videos on YouTube already about creating those kind of mid range sounds but at the end of the day it's all about learning the basic techniques and experimenting from there. ;-)

Edit: Saying that, there are also quite a few tutorials already about creating the "Electro House chord" which this is based on. Although most of them involve a fifth (7 semitones)rather than a third (or minor third in this case).

Read the title next time. If I was doing a "Flux Pavilion Style Mid-Range bass", the title wouldn't be "DJ Fresh's Gold Dust Lead", would it... :u: And how is it funny? :?

Wtf man, what i meant was: The video has got nothing to do with Flux so writing his name was misguiding and why would people searching for the remix tutorial want to find your tutorial about the original?
Doesn't matter anyway !

Ah sorry man, its just that some people may not know about the original, and the flux version has the same lead, so the patch applies to both :) Sorry :P
