Re: My Dubstep Electric Violin Remix of Adventure Club
You're obviously a talented violin player, why are you doing this? Sounds like a mess for the most part, i'm sorry, those pig grunt synths dont mash very well with your violin playing, and it isn't anything new as far as i know - aren't there cooler things you could be doing with your skills?
Maybe if you play over something with less... noise, it would sound better, there are just too many noises clashing in your video. I mean, props for being good at what you do, i just think you could be doing better things or breaking some real ground.

hey man, well i definitely appreciate your feedback, i understand musically what you are saying..we might just see differently on this one i guess..
I really like the track you sent. I do play some music similar to what your describing with a dj named dragonfly from san francisco, we did a set a few weeks ago at an event called enchanted forest in mendocino county..long story short..it was a world music set, very bill laswell-ish ..covered some balkan house and indian trance...and i loved it, i used my acoustic violin and electric
why/how do i play over dubstep...well i was invited last year to jam with a dj and it kinda took off..i was getting paying gigs at it..and just kinda goin' w it..got to open some cool shows w/ bassnectar, porter robinson, vexare, and the wailers..i took a break..and thought hey, ppl seemed to really dig it..why not shoot some youtube videos.. ..and here i am no.
i also have a jazz quartet ..violin/bass/guitar/drums ..thats my other gig

I would love to hit mute on the brostep track and just listen to the violin.
Not too much room to breathe with the combination of a violin solo and brostep.
Check out Russ Liquid, he is great at combining EDM w/ live instruments.

The tune you're playing over is horrible.
I could see that style of playing working more in like a tune like Rustie's maybe you could find someone who makes stuff like that and try collab?

Cool, that's just my track in my signature though! If you want me to send you a version, without the sarinda, for you to play over, feel free to ask! Would be sick!maddviolinist wrote: I really like the track you sent.
Do you have any links to you and this DJ Dragonfly? Something i'm interested in...

I agree. All of these dubstep instrumental covers are kind of stupid and unnecessary.idontreallygiveashit wrote:You're obviously a talented violin player, why are you doing this?
