Sell alesis m1's, use proceeds and sub money to invest in some better monitors. If it's accuracy your after in my opinion that would be the wiser way to go. Unless you really love those monitors then fair play. 1000 what by the way, pounds, gil, rupees?

haha my mistake, dollars that is. i just got my alesis a couple weeks ago and theyre pretty damn accurate. i was on a tight budget so couldnt really spend over a few hundred and the alesis were reccomended to me by a bunch of different people including a couple of great underground bass music producers. so im going to stick with these guys for a at least a little while. thanks anyway tho man :W:

I have the M1 520's (5" woofer) and paired 'em with a cheapo Fostex 10" sub I got ex-demo for about $300 off ebay. Works fine for me - I do my final mixdowns always with my Ultrasone Pro headphones, but the monitor setup is great for working on stuff (I wouldn't trust them for mixing in an untreated room, but I know them and their sound quite well now).

Saw a photo from Sleeper's studio, he's rocking the 520's as well I think! I think they're great for the money, even though I'm used to the likes of Genelecs and Mackie 824s at work.
