Thanks for the feedback guys:

@alexeyhermann As I posted on your SC, this is really groovy. Nice drums, good synths. Really well structured, I don't really know how you could improve it. Perhaps try and mix the vocals and kick a little bit better with the synths. :W:

@Inconnu Nice ideas, although I found the track a little repetitive, perhaps jumble your hats around to give some more swing. The synths sound nice but I'd switch out the clap for something else.

@Living_Tragedy Sounding nice on the intro, drums are nice - the hats especially. The drop was a little underwhelming, the hoover sounding synth needs fattening up (distort/saturate) or layering with something. Also I'd work on bringing some punch into the drums. Good start, could easily finish up as a nice track if you really glue everything together - also a double time second drop might sound cool.

I wasn't going to post a track but I figure I have nothing to lose - something I spent the last couple of hours on, the mix is terrible atm as are the transitions since I just wanted a quick upload to show to some friends, but any feedback would be cool (this started out as a chillout track, hence the samples :P).

Thanks

I'll check your tone in a short notice. :)

I've posted feedback from time to time.. so I have probably posted feedback to way more people than 3 before posting my own song. :D I know the rules but thx for the notice hehe =)

ada, your tune sounds pretty well mixed down, and i loved the flow it had, everything was right to me music wise.. the only thing i would possibly consider fiddling with would be the clap, it doesnt seem to have much of a "hit" to it.

Thanks!

Yea, I like these soft claps that feel rather humanish and they tend to lose some of the "thump". I will see if I get can add some "hit" to it.. I definatley see what you mean =)

Regarding your song:
I like the kick and snare you picked. I like the synths also and the track is rather ambient while still staying interesting with these "iiya iiya" sounds.
For some feedback I think I'd boost the high ends of the whole track. It seems to me that the lower ends are just a tad bit over saturated.. but I could be wrong?

Any advice would be much appreciated. :t: I went completely bananas on that one btw :D Please don't ignore me, lol, i wrote a shitload of comments last time but the feedback was really scarce. It's kinda hard to improve when you don't get feedback :P
@mthrfnk
I like the atmosphere, sounds of ocean and such, bass drop certainly has power but it drags too long imho. Your intro build has some serious problems with harmony, sounds are too dissonant, second build is fine though.
@CrewCutz
Nice dark vibe and sounds overall :) But riffs are overused, it starts to drag. The main concern is the structure, try to follow a plot structure one, which also works for music, it looks like this http://www.musik-therapie.at/PederHill/ ... truct1.gif
@Living_Tragedy
Nah, kick doesn't need more presense, it's already louder the the whole mix, might be something wrong with your sound system. You should work on your mixing skills, arpeggios and melody lines are too quiet. There is no real intro, try some usual filtering stuff or start with a beat and then add your melody or something like that, try to develop the melodic line so it would reach a peak of some sort before the breakdown. Nice hihats btw.

@Kongret – loving the snare at the beginning before the fatter one comes in – maybe can make some more of that? But good sounding mix. Perhaps the structure is too predictable? Feel the tune is a bit too much for me though I like more minimal stuff lol. Banging hi-hat shuffle.

@ Ada – agreeing with Eye-siC on the clap. My clap was swag and I think layering another one on top EQed differently made it nice. Also discovered a lil bit of bitcrushing can make it bite. But perhaps you’re deliberately going for a more human-like clap I dunno

Here's attempt 2 for anyone who wants something a bit deeper :)

Inconnu:
I like the general idea and the pitched elements are pretty cool and minimal like what I thiinkk you're going for but a lot of the drums sound pretty "sample pack" to me. They need more personality and body. Especially in the hats and those pitched 808 sounding snaretom things. Also the drums are pretty loud comparatively to the rest of the mix and some hits being much louder than other parts of the percussion part which makes it feel a bit confusing/distracting.

Kongret:
That was a whooole lot of things... but a lot of them were really cool things! The main bass sound is golden man I like it a lot and I like the throaty nature of it. Everything is being pushed waaay too hard though and its making it sound like you shit 1-3k all over the place in the spectrum. Kind of harsh on the ears if you know what I mean. The use of vocals is very unique though and you're definitely on to a very cool style. The bass line at times is very groovy and much more intricate than most brostep straight on stuff. Your use of leads is really cool and in general the song is cool. If you could smooth out your mix and work on your stereo imaging and what not I think you'll be onto some cool and unique stuff!

Ada:
Classic happy house and mixed pretty well. I like your tom rolls and things like that to keep it interesting. I disagree with the comment about your clap it serves the purpose of claps in that style exactly as it is. There really never is any punch to snares in this style. Kinda just a rolling high end to imply a snare haha. Pretty cool man though its nothing special other than cool percussion at times. Try to spice it up a little and make it your own!

@CE9958 Thanks for the useful feedback dude - helpful stuff. Wasn't sure how to get more personality and body but i changed some of the samples and added a few things. Then I basically turned the drums down. Would really appreciate further comments from you or anyone else. Liking that remix you've got but trying to give you useful feedback would be pointless lol

My latest tune, introduction is no where near complete just quickly put anything together and i've only got really the first half of the tune down but apart from that i'm pretty happy with it.

Soundcloud

I want to know whether any other dungeonish producers out there feel that any of these parts could do with tweaking or whether the techniques i've used to create these sounds are maybe not the best way to go about it and offer any pointers. I'm starting to think my tunes are sounding pretty good and well polished but i know there's stuff that's still lacking so any feedback is welcome :)

@Inconnu - I really do like the vibe you're going for alot very swamp81ish i'm liking it, one thing i would say is work on your eqing of each element in your songs making sure the frequencies of different instruments don't clash, the main lead synth i feel has too much low end in it and starts clashing with the sub, make sure that all of the insruments in the song have thier own unique frequency band and you should get a much cleaner sounding mix, also on a more specific note, i think the hi hats and snares could do with brightening up a bit, everything in this feel pretty low frequency, just add a high shelf boost to most of your drums with give it a brighter and more alive feel, good work though!

@Eye-siC - really like all the the synth sounds, the midrange and pads and stabs in the background sound sweet, one thing i would definately change is the level of all your drums, a couple of hats really poke out and are really loud compared to every other drum and your snare in particular i feel is too quite for my liking. i would recommend mixing your drums with the volume down to a very low volume as when everything is loud its often hard to tell weather things sound out of place because of the different frequencies and how they act, if the drums sound perfect at a low volume, they'll sound even better loud!

@Living_Tragedy - Man i think the drums sound pretty sweet well pretty well mixed apart maybe just bring the snare up abit, i really like my loud snares though so it might not be your thing haha :) one big point i would like to make is, wheres the sub man!? you're track really is lacking a lot of sub bass and thats what makes dubstep dubstep! just get a really low octave sine wave following the melody in the midrange for the sub for something bassic but it definately need more sub, where's the weight!

Cheers!

ArrenMog: Really feelin this one man! first thing i noticed right off the bat was the lack of mids in your synths. rythym is awesome, percussion is on point!

Living_Tragedy: Cool melody in the intro! Build is really effective! Snare needs some more power. Feel like it might be lacking in the low end as well.

jimbeaux: nice work homie! the low/midbass has a gritty feel to it, but i feel you might be taking it too low. maybe try cutting out the lower mid fq's slightly. awesome vibe though man, im feelin this one for sure!

heres my latest, feedback would be awesome! :6:

Dougriley : Im diggin your deep vibe could use more sounds and synths but I like the concept of your style thus far!

First time posting a wip so any feed back helps I know the intros all loud, the drums are going to be spiced up and such just need opinions on my "agressive noises" I went for lol. Also its a remix theres tons of people trying to win or what ever I mainly just remixed it because I like the vocals and style didnt really put to much time into it yet. Thank you !

Yoyoyoyo... feedback yoooo...

Living_Tragedy
The kick feels a little loud and there needs to be a bass layer underneath your synths to really fill the sound out.

Eye-siC
Solid tune so. I like the kick and snare a lot, some good percussion as well.

Kongret
The intro bass is a little muddy, fun drop tho! Progresses into a good funky bassline. Noice!

CE9958
Nice big kick! Good mix, very well balanced. The complextro part feels like it's missing a little bottom end though.

arrenmog
awesome production so far bro! percussion is great, all nice and clear / punchy. Missing some mids but nothing a little saturation / eq wouldn't solve.

dougriley
I feel you could bring the mids up a little here. The snare might be a tough loud but its sounding good man.

Oki - here's my latest. Its another 110 tune. I always feel like I missing that width / thickness in the mids. Anyone have any tips on effect chains to try with my basses to try and get some serious girth out of them?

Hey you guys. So I'm kind of new to making dubstep, so don't judge. I made a remix of a song called "Eyes Wide Open" for the competition that they are doing. Take a look! I'm open to all suggestions and criticism. :Q:

@Kongret: I think you should get a better mixdown and some more sub bass action going and you got your self a unique track!

@Eye-siC: Turn the sub bass down just a hair and side chain that Snare. pretty nice tune got some unique vibes.

@Living_Tragedy: You have alot of work to do haha. I think that kick sample is kinda bad but if you are going to keep it you might want to low pass it a bit.

I am starting to get the hang of producing, here is my track. The only problem I really face is the side chaining in Fl Studio, it does not work like it should (at least to me). I kinda have a poopy master on it right now so keep that in mind.
