Re: Homophobia?
whats funny is that anyone who claims being gay is a choice, is essentially outing themselves as bisexual

Re: Homophobia?
I know this threads all done and dusted, but oh dear. This reminds me of the 'if a tree falls, does it make a sound?' thread. It's really an argument about the definition of the words 'natural'/'choice'.
Sexuality can come from any possible ratio of nature and nurture. Seems simple enough.

Exactly the kind of unnatural behavior we were talking about earlier.

Re: Homophobia?
i will never understand why gay marriage is not allowed in the majority of the world, it seriously pisses me off, who has the right too truthfully say what someone can or can't do too achieve happiness.. i can honestly see weed being legalized in countries before gay marriage.
i personally have no issue with gay people, just the idea of making love too a dude isn't for me.
gay guys have shown interest and said i'm attractive before, not my thing, but i respect and appreciate it, bless them for honesty.

The only reason I can think of and kind of understand is 'marriage' is a religious thing.BlueyTeamTom wrote:i will never understand why gay marriage is not allowed in the majority of the world, it seriously pisses me off, who has the right too truthfully say what someone can or can't do too achieve happiness.. i can honestly see weed being legalized in countries before gay marriage.

Re: Homophobia?
It's not, though. It's a business transaction. The woman from one family will give the guy from the other family babies (and sex) and the guy gives her food, shelter and an occasional beating. At least, that's what marriage was like for most of western history. Religion just sort of latched on to it to control and mold people.Terpit wrote:The only reason I can think of and kind of understand is 'marriage' is a religious thing.BlueyTeamTom wrote:i will never understand why gay marriage is not allowed in the majority of the world, it seriously pisses me off, who has the right too truthfully say what someone can or can't do too achieve happiness.. i can honestly see weed being legalized in countries before gay marriage.

The whole gay marriage thing is stupid because it argues for gay marriage from the wrong angle. Don't give gay people the same state-granted benefits for farting in the same bed as straight couples, just leave it up to the churches or local McDonalds' or the drunk hobo on your street corner to 'marry' you or and call this 'union' whatever you want. It's just a title anyway, how much meaning there's to the word depends on how much meaning individuals put on it. And if a guy wants to marry the Eiffel Tower, let him and if he calls it 'marriage' just say you disagree with him and don't accept it as 'marriage'.
And voluntary association is one of the most fundamental rights humans have and government should have no say in it at all.
It's funny how a lot of self-described 'conservatives' want 'small government' and claim that 'government' is 'ineffective, evil, etc' and then want STATE REGULATED MARRIAGE (the whole point of which was to OFFEND the clergy in the first place because it took control of marriage out of the churhces hands and put it in the government's). Like, they believe that their lord who created the heavens and Earth in 6 days is all powerful and infinite in his wisdom, but he's too stupid to figure the whole gay marriage thing himself and needs some help from some random country's electorate to figure it out.

Re: Homophobia?
Ok I gave up reading that, mish, just saying that marriage nowadays as far as I'm concerned is a religious ceremony. I don't see why there can't be some legal equivalent for homosexuals or just any couple that wants it. Calling it marriage just seems like a kick in teeth to Christianity or whatever. Not that I really care either way.
