Yeah that's usually how I've always felt too. Depends on the venue too, the mainstage here kinda blows as far as setup, everything's just a big gravel pit hahaReverb wrote:brand new. i like asap, but thats not even a question. rock shows > rap shows

Re: ASAP Rocky
rap shows are way better than rock shows when done right.
Re: ASAP Rocky
I'm from Baltimore, raised in & around HipHop, hated Rock music in highschool. I like it now, but that I'm not partial to rap, is my point.kidshuffle wrote:rap shows are way better than rock shows when done right.
So objectively nothing can top a Stadium Rock show in terms of Grandiosity. Infact, even in rap music, the term "yo this beat ROCKIN" states this point. Rap can be epic, but live Rock will always be epic-er.
Re: ASAP Rocky
I think it depends on taste =)
tho I think a rapper has to be really good live to carry a show, whereas a rock show will sound good as long as the music is good. I've seen too many live rap shows where levels were off, the guys were just awful at spitting live or there was just no real vibe going with the crowd. It doesn't seem to happen as much in other genres.

Re: ASAP Rocky
all this talk of rap shows vs rock shows is a bit daft, like all rap and rock shows follow a set formula... and how are we defining rock? does that include metal and hardcore for example? If so a Shattered Realm show is most certainly gunna be more exciting and engaging than a Jay-z concert but a Wu-tang show will be far more exciting than a U2 concert
