don't get me wrong, i love the swindle release and don't mind "fun" tracks, but it's DEEP MEDI. keeping it a bit more eyesdown and serious is implied in the name

Lol. I'm aware of the labels name and have been a fan since day one. But in my eyes its always been Deep Medi. Not Dark Medi. lol. Just my opinion.

buckwild is a serious tune, loving commodo's stuff but i do agree that there doesn't seem to be as much variety in medi that there used to be. is there not gonna be some quest soon???

idk, imo there's a lot of variety. the jazzy jack sparrow and author stuff, the swindle ep, the dub mechs release, the mensah release. etc. all very fresh and unique

Agreed with Phigure, wouldn't exactly say that the label is lacking in diversity. Would also say that Commodo is really special and to me doesn't really compare to the other "dark" producers. Excited about Buckwild :Q:

Yes! I love all of Commodo's work.

I feel that there's still a good bit of variety in the Deep Medi label, most definitely. I also don't think it needs to always be super dark, eyes down type shit, the Swindle release was a great breath of fresh air with the musicality and funkiness. -I'm also realizing that everyone has a different interpretation of "super dark, eyes down, eerie," stuff. I feel that limiting deep medi to really dark, eerie, type tunes is an unnecessary constraint that will not only thwart the progression of the label, but also of the genre as a whole.

And +1 for the Quest LP.

Agreeing that I'll probably skip this, was also hoping for new Hijak tunes.

As for the label showing variety, late 2011-now has seen so many different sounds emerge from the label which, to me, is a good thing. As far as the whole minimal vibe goes, I don't think any label does it better than Black Box/Box Clever. That's not to take anything away from medi, pretty much every release since Swish is a must have but this new Commodo isn't exciting me much right now.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good record, but sounds just like his recent EP, which was better and I already have. Would much rather have other forthcoming stuff.

Never heard that tune before, absolutely massive...

This backed with Asteroids would be my 12" of the year
"Dying Is Easy, Living is What Scares Me."
