Overly nice non-criticisms on tunes by regular dsf posters goes wayyyyy too far, almost like we're afraid to say anything that may come across as harsh, despite how beneficial it may be.

I think maybe it's because of the atmosphere where if someone says something negative/critical about a tune/artist, a complete shitstorm immediately ensues.idontreallygiveashit wrote:Overly nice non-criticisms on tunes by regular dsf posters goes wayyyyy too far, almost like we're afraid to say anything that may come across as harsh, despite how beneficial it may be.
I personally only comment on the tunes that I like, partly because of this and partly because I'd rather send out positive vibes
There is a lot of room for more constructive criticism though, I agree.

I'm inclined to strongly agree. So many absolutely gorgeous tunes on that album, it takes me back and makes me feel all fuzzy and warmKochari wrote:

I like the jungle vibe more than the dnb vibe. Just feels more natural, and so much more fun to brock out to.

Totally agree.
Also, I hate Israel, but I'm not an anti-semite.

FUCK that, it's such a mindblowingly bad idea. if you think about it at ALL you have to realize how fucking ridiculous it is
whether or not you think it's a good idea, it's plain unconstitutional. it singles out a subset of the population and unfairly invades their privacy. statistics have routinely shown that the percentage of drug users among the poor isn't even much higher than the rest of the population.
such drug testing programs would have enormous costs as well, which is one of the reasons they haven't really gone into effect. it actually costs more to implement such a program than it would save.
it's a slippery slope as well... next thing it'll be testing medicaid and medicare recipients, people with educational grants, etc. everybody who receives government aid... how do you decide when to stop?
it scapegoats the poor and unfortunate and and perpetuates the idea that they're just drug abusing lowlives.
pretty much all hardcore drugs are out of your system within 1-2 days. other than that, it's basically just cannabis - which we all know stays in your system for a long time. so even someone who just rarely smokes will get fucked over, while someone doing heroin just needs to take a strategic break for a few days and then can continue doing whatever they want.
and lastly... even if it were effective and constitutional - the children and other dependents will have to bear the consequences. a child shouldn't pay the consequences of whether or not their parent does drugs.

Re: Post your unpopular opinions.. NSFW
that's exactly the dumb kind of sentiment i'm talking about.
"oh poor people are just lazy and live on welfare benefits sitting at home all day and doing nothing"
the idea that the poor dont contribute anything to society? sure, there's people who abuse the system so they don't have to be a functioning member of society, but what about all the people that are simply down on their luck? come from a poor socio-economic background? people don't control what circumstances they're born into. most poor people work a hell of a lot harder than most wealthy people i know.
and despite that, even if you still feel that way, for all the reasons i listed above - such a program is objectively dumb fucking idea

I disagree, but not enough to get into a big debate about it.
