Electronic Engineer & Dub Pioneer Hopeton Brown, professionally known as "The Scientist", was introduced to electronics at an early age by his father, who worked as a television and radio repair technician. He began building his own custom amplifiers and studio gear and was dubbed "The Scientist" due to his forward thinking concepts about the mixing board (i.e. moving faders & automation, documented in the 1980's). He quickly gained a reputation for his unique recording and mixing techniques, which echo to this day in the form of Dubstep and other styles of dance music. His recordings are now considered benchmarks in sound which highly influenced a new electronic music generation interested in remixing and sound experimentation. Engineer credits include albums for Reggae’s most illustrious artists as well as for Rock, Pop, and R&B superstars.

That's amazing! How much does it cost to get your track mastered by him?

Yeah quite a few errors on the site. It also force downloaded some files by visiting Scientist's page. It looks like an encoded version of the page entitled 'download' (570KB/no extension).

Hope it gets sorted out though, this is really interesting.

Scientist only charging $33 a song for mastering is a bargain.

Does fall slightly into the 'too good to be true' category though. Is there a catch?

No catch wub. Scientist is helping lots of Independent artists (including myself) with music services that otherwise would be out of reach due to babylon greed. Things like mixing, mastering and digital distribution.

Yes, that is the man's specialty! From what I've seen, he prefers to do three mixes of the same song: a straightforward clean vocal mix, an alternate mix with some dub peppered in, and an instrumental dub.

i definitely wanna hear some examples of this :)
i mean comparisons of what he does to modern songs
it really is surprising that he does different versions of the songs he's mastering, at that price as well!

Wait no there's been some miscommunication. The $101 price for 3 songs is for Mastering only - meaning he will enhance the sound of your mixes.

Also available is Mixing or Re-Mixing of your songs, which of course is a more entailed process and thus a different rate. When I mentioned he prefers to do the three mixes I was talking about the mixing process not mastering.

I hope that clears it up, check out Scientist Launches Dubstep Into Outer Space to hear what he does to modern songs
