Mike Boylan - Promise (Future bass sound)

Post by mboylan » Fri Aug 10, 2012 4:39 pm

Hey guys this is one of my first tracks. Im trying to get a little feedback on it. Please take a second to listen to it and let me know how u feel about it. Any advice you have for me would be greatly appreciated. It's made in ableton. Some synths were on operator and some on massive. Thanks for listening

kinda nice, i feel like it could do with some work though
Drums sound very dry to me, reverb distortion etc give them some flavour. Also could do with some groove especially in the first bit, they sound to mechanical here to me.
Vocal sounds like it goes out of key when its pitched down could just be my ears though
melody is a bit repetitive, give it some variation. Automate things, switch up the riff.
The transition the to drop doesnt flow well for me

but yeah keep working at it. its got some potential

Also when im pitching the vocals how many semi tones do i use to keep it in key? do i need to go a whole octave? right now they are at +4, -4 and -8. Its in the key of G if that matters.
