Awesome! Will have to give a listen tomorrow as I'm ridiculously tired.

Sick tune! Nice to see Biome on a deeper tip as well. Any audio for the other tunes on the ep?

Clips up on Chemical:

Vinyl / Digital - there's a bonus 5th track bundled with the digital EP.

Have updated the label Soundcloud with all the tracks now. Once the finished vinyl arrives I'll run a competition to win a few copies. :4:

i'm sorry but all biome's stuff is beginning to sound so contrived. i doubt he'll ever touch greatness like he did with Propaganda and his KM edit. another disappointing half step release, guess i'll keep waiting for Youngsta's 12 on Tempa

seriously don't mean to sound like a hater all the time, i rate black box fam very highly, but not feeling this one or the past few

the artwork is really neat but the typography is the opposite

big release! was hoping for sabretooth and sapphire, but maybe that's something for future releases... i guess you won't get the bonus tune when buying the double pack?

Did you even listen to the preview? Only two of the five tracks are remotely halfstep, and even then only Reality sounds something like his earlier releases (at least in my opinion).

I agree there was a point where Biome was all about gnarly halfstep but he's moved so past that with his production and become a seriously versatile producer.

Anyway, big up incnic, sick artwork man! And big up thinking and Biome, this is gonna be a seriously big release. :Q:

Inner Mind is pure bliss.

reality - halfstep
inner mind - halfstep
charged - halfstep
two way - roller
first light - roller

honestly "charged" is pretty good, reminds me of kenzo. besides that "first light" is very strong, but i'm a sucker for hand drums and stabs. the rest are generic in my opinion. i would be more excited if this were a 12, Charged bw First Light. but of course First Light is the digital only :a:

versatile is something i doubt biome will ever be. there are very few versatile producers in the bass scene, David Kennedy and Scuba come to mind, and of course Tony Williams and Peverelist

You're chatting shit.

And just listened to that sample, it's great. Big ups Black Box. Can't wait to get a sweatshirt for my birthday coming up :U:

Funny you say that. I can't think of very many releases in recent months that I've been really enthused about, barring something like a David Kennedy or Scuba release...maybe even Kryptic Minds, but this Biome EP is shaping up to be massive imo. Love all 5 tunes. Great atmosphere. Halfstep doesn't automatically disqualify a song from being good.

oh of course not, i adore halfstep. unfortunately much of it has become formulaic, and i think biome is guilty of that more often than not

I agree that some of his productions sometimes sound a bit samey, but this particular EP I'm really excited about. Also been rinsing both Shadows and Juganu.

No need to be sorry sir, I can understand your point entirely. Don't worry about sounding like a hater, your just voicing an honest opinion.

I definitely share a lot of your sentiment, I'm also not too crazy about some of the tracks on here and the use of the word "contrived" isn't without warrant. When I initially heard the "Inner Mind" track I really loved it, and I still do, but after listening to the rest of the tracks, I'm not as impressed with the EP as a whole. Perhaps the other 2-3 tracks I'm not entirely feeling will grow on me.
