Well instead of exporting with File > Export... you can try sticking edison on the master and recording the entire track into that. after this, you can export within edison. Hopefully that solves your issue.

Dammit, that didn't work either. Which means it's something outside of FL affecting the playback of my exported sounds, and I have disabled all media player eqs and enhancements. What the hell is doing this :u: ?? As always, thanks for all this help.

Ok, so I think it isn't just stuff I exported, I think it is all audio files. Is that a faulty driver or something? It's very noticeable at loud volumes, when a drop comes in, the volume ducks for a second.

Does it have Beats Audio?
If it does, disable it and delete that lol. Anyway I know the ducking thing you mean. My audio interface has built in DSP effects, and I use its compressor sometimes when listening to music to keep everything at the same level, but sometimes I forget to take it off and then everything sounds like it's being ducked. There's probably some kind of special effect on, just have to find it. Check deep in the Control Panel sound options, and in your system tray for running sound programs that might have effects. FL/ASIO doesn't use Windows' audio effects, so that's why it wouldn't sound like that in there. What model laptop is it?

It actually does have beats audio hahah. I kinda found a way around it, which was getting this ASIO WMP thing, and everything sounded nice, but wav. files couldn't be played.

Yeah, even with Beats off, I get the ducking. I can't seem to find some compressor on my computer. Wouldn't it be a driver problem, because when I switched to the ASIO driver for WMP, the ducking stopped?

It could be, dunno... that's why I asked the laptop make/model. The problem seems pretty stubborn though. They put all kinds of stuff hidden away in new PCs and laptops. What media players have you tried? Try Winamp, Foobar2000... each have plenty of audio options to mess with. I wouldn't be surprised if newer computers have audio settings in the BIOS these days other than the enable/disable onboard sound. I'd check there too.

You're going to have to search for the specific laptop model and its troubleshooting online I think.

Oh sorry, forgot to post the model. I will look it up. Umm, it's a HP Pavilion DV6-7031TX 15.6 HD/3rd Gen C
i7-3610QM/4GB/640GB/nVIDIA GT 630M. Though, I think it is a repaired model.

Ive had the same problem for 2 years, it was solved through proper asio setup to your soundcard specs, also making background services a priority rather than program, ALSO best tip I got was to render final mixdown track in EDISON 32BITWAV with nothing else on on your computer... since then my songs have came out the same that I've mixed!

Can you go through properly how you did this? I also tried rendering in Edison, but it didn't change anything cause the problem seems to be happening to any audio file, not just the ones exported from FL.

Check the HP website for updates and FAQs. I couldn't find that model on their site though. You might need to find the SKU number under the laptop, or it could just fall under a general model like DV6-7000. Though I would not try firmware updates unless it specifically mentions it fixes that problem.

We were unable to locate the Drivers & Software downloads page for "DV6-7031TX"

Hmm, yeah, I found the exact product number, that didn't work either. Thanks to everyone who has helped. Has anybody else had this exact problem - audio files on your computer sound compressed and duck in volume when played/just sound like bad quality files, but everything sounds perfect in FL when using the ASIO drivers. And there are no sound enhancing features enabled anywhere(I hope) on my computer. Sorry for going over the problem again, just trying to make it as clear as possible.

I had it on the laptop I'm currently using. When I was running Windows on this, my copy had a Dolby sound enhancer. Maybe yours came with a sound enhancer besides beats?

You should upload some clips so we can see if the problem is in the audio file or your computer's playback.

Uhh, I've looked around, but I don't think there are any other enhancers, unless one is really hidden. With the playback, I've sent people clips and they sound fine when they hear it, so it's the playback, my main driver, that's causing the issue. This is so damn frustrating. I finally get a laptop that can load projects with heaps of VST's without crackling or crashing, but then this has to happen.

Did you buy it recently? If so, you should take it to the person who sold it to you and complain. They may fix it, replace it, or ignore you...

Yeah, it's bought recently. I think it was a repaired model, from Grays Online(an auction website if you don't know). I think it has a year's warranty on it, but from what I have read on other forums and stuff, is that there is nothing you can do to get rid of the Beats' shitty audio quality playback.

Alright :/ ... that's annoying. Perhaps you should just get an external soundcard and not use the onboard audio at all.
