Two Door Cinema Club

Post by demonzEEK » Sun Aug 12, 2012 12:11 pm

I guess this is kinda off topic so this forum will have to do!
Anyone else into this band? Personally, I think they are great. I don't pretend they are the best band in the world or anything like that but their poppy, catchy ,mainstream kinda sound is actually really good. Their first album, "Tourist History", is an absolute belter. I don't think I've listened to an album as uplifting as it. Many parties I've been at and it's starting to hit rock bottom and someone sticks that album on and everybody is buzzing again. I got the leaked version of their new album "Beacon" and first few listens I wasn't thinking it was too hot, I'm onto my fourth listen over the past few days and the first few songs are really starting to grow on me. This is gona be a class album as well.

Then again, I am pretty hungover and high so I'm sure anything would sound amazing to me right now. I did afterall just have the best Subway of my life. The wheaten bread with turkey and ham and regular cheese, toasted with lettuce, onions, tomato, pickles, green peppers and the honey mustard sauce. YUM!

Here's the first track off their first album:

And here's the first release off their new album:

I seen them when they were just starting out, i didn't like them much at the time. It was two guys and an apple mac. those were the days when i wasnt into making music on computers lol. It was a small bar they were playing in and I dont think they were even at the top of the bill.

Skip forward two years and i seen them at electric picnic with a fucking huge crowd packed into the tent they were playing in. Such a moment of pride and I have loved them ever since.

Here's another great band who are similar in style.

Yeah I dig Ed Zealous man. Have you ever seen their Bandwidth video on youtube. Its an acoustic version done in a van at Glasgobury. Really good stuff.

edit: on second thought I'm now thinking that video was the only thing I heard by them unless that song is recent and they're changed their sound. That was a pretty bad song. Maybe it'll grow on me but at the minute it sounds like Katy Perry to me and it's not something I'd choose to listen to.

This is still a good tune though.

Greattt song, catchy as hell. Lethargik from DSF did a good DnB refix as well, I play that out a lot since I got my friends into TDCC.

Good band though, their album is pretty solid.
