well I'm still not buying it, I really think the writers fucked it up right there.

This was probably conceived before the pilot of the show was even shot. You don't have to like it, but I don't think it was some 'LOL ADD SUSPENSE TO DRAW OUT THE SHOW' type of thing. The show was never intended to jump the shark. Todd said it himself 'you thought of everything!', cue to Walt's self-satisfied grin. Walt DIDN'T think of everything though, including something as SIMPLE as the possinility of there being witnesses, let alone Todd shooting the damn witness.

I dunno, Breaking Bad is the kind of show with a storyline that sort of forces you to suspend disbelief to get into it in the first place. The last thing it needs to do is remind the viewer of this.

watching breaking bad today, i realised how much of a complete and utter psycopath walt is in terms of personality (not really in case history)

I've just finished that book and i'm psychopath-spotting all the time now. Great fun, until I realised my girlfriend might be one

But keeping it on topic, Walt definitely ticks all the boxes. Lost all empathy towards him along time ago as these traits became more and more obvious. Who is he really doing all this for now? He's a tnuc. A clever one, but still a tnuc.

the show progresses as Walt and Heisenberg become one person, and ultimately, if there is ever a downfall it is when the two become each other and cracks in both show through the altar ego's
