Gimmicky pop rap by someone who admits they're as much. If dmx admitted he was a joke or stopped trying to be hard when the mic was off I could.maybe respect him as an act but he's not so I can't respect what he's trying to pass himself off as

Sure, but no one's realer than her. Cute white girl in love with her boyfriend rapping about being a cute white girl in love with her boyfriend. So by your logic, she should be an awesome rapper.

It doesn't make her a great rapper but I have more respect for her art than dmxs.

Tbf, DMX has gotten in a fair bit of trouble over the years: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMX_(rapper)#Legal_issues

"Art" doesn't really exist outside of our heads anyway. Like, someone may have created it, but if it weren't for me interpreting it, it wouldn't even exist.

why is he an imitator? Because he's white? dude grew up in a Jamaican immigrant neighbourhood, Grew up with reggae, made reggae all his life. Bad example.

what's with all the height talk pkay? is it some sort of weird chest puffing thing for you? you're talking all sorts of garbage in this thread.

if dmx were 5'6 he'd be shorter than me, and when i met him he was definitely taller, i'd put him at 6'0

Yeah, you'll be telling us Kode9 has no place in sound system culture next. White, Scottish bloke? Fuck does he know about reggae?

How dare Skream and The Bug build on dub culture with their alabaster skin and English accents!

i've had to have said this earlier in the thread, but here we go. drake is 100% phony. he grew up in the richest part of toronto his whole life (i knew someone who used to yacht with him as a kid too). dude probably never saw a strip club til he was 19, probably never saw a gun til he met weezy, and probably never beefed with anyone until this chris brown shit. fuck that guy

rappers that rap on about thug life 24/7 are completely shit 99% of the time anyway. Usually cos they have no education and only know about 8 different words since the thesaurus is the first book most these motherfuckers pick up.

I would rather listen to Blue Scholars, or better yet, Common Market, any day of the week over somebody like 50 Cent.
But whatever, this argument has devolved into pure stupidity anyway.

But hey that tune is shit cos that guy is white and Jewish and has a beard (hey he has quite a lot in common with you pkay!)

I guess what I am trying to say is that if you care this much about gangsta rap you need to get a fucking grip, since it's the very worst part of the genre. Even horrorcore rap is way better.

So? Shouldn't all demographics be represented in music? A great deal of people live the life that these artists rap about. Some intelligent, educated, blessed with an easy life rapper isn't going to speak for them.

what you really mean is you have no connection to gangsta rap so it doesn't appeal to you personally, it doesn't mean it's shit
