so you are the promoter who put this festival on?

and being a promoter doesnt give you the right to record every set. the only reason he probably resigned himself to it was because you are the ones paying him

come on dude, quit bitching. i don't see what you're trying to achieve here, bloodstream's gonna honor the promise he made to kode9 whether or not some dude on a forum hassles him to release it

not really

bloodstream could have never recorded this set in the first place and then this discussion wouldn't be taking his place. and just because he did record it doesnt mean he's obligated to share it with the world.

@ above rolling your eyes at what? burial being one of my favourite musicians? i wouldnt roll my eyes if you said muse were your favourite musicians

im being honest in what i say,

'bloodstream could have never recorded this set in the first place and then this discussion wouldn't be taking his place'

excellent skills of deduction there

and while i agree that there is no explicit moral obligation in sharing it with others bloodstream is exercising what we call 'poor form'

a deal is a deal?

what are you talking about?

did you make a deal with kode9 saying; im going to record this set and there is nothing you can do to stop me recording it but i will agree not to share it with anyone else? lol
again: he played at our party, we recorded it for our archives, but he said: no upload or share with others. Thats the DEAL!
What's the point of recording something for archival purposes if it will never see the light of day? I don't really care if this is released or not, just wondering.

it is not poor form because he has 0 obligation to share it, just as it is not poor form for mala to not release all of his music digitally.

neither parties have to. simple.

but it's still whack as fuck to brag about what recordings you got, when you won't share them, just to look important.

and mala releasing tunes and some member of the public who recorded a set are two different things.

if bloodstream was burial or kode9 then i wouldnt have a problem with anything he wanted to do

i think the big problem is that bloodstream comes out saying he has all these mixes and then goes & uploads the most shit brostep ones.

dont think the problem lies with bloodstream though, it's simply the culture behind dubstep

"proper" dubstep guys value exclusivity and dubplate culture, while that aspect of dubstep seems almost nonexistent with brostep, so it's only logical that brosteppers are more likely to OK a set for release. i'm sure bloodstream would like to release them - but he obviously has to comply with the wishes of the artist/DJ

i mean i guess he could tease us a little bit less, but i dont really care.

you have to learn to appreciate exclusivity and it's role in this music - even if we as average people often get the short end of the stick. dubstep wouldnt be what it is without it.

I don't understand why you'd even mention it if you can't/won't share. Just seems like immature bragging.
