you in no way shape or form eat meat because you have to
the only real "essential" things we need are chemical compounds...the means of how they get to us, whether it be plant or animal, could both be argued to be eaten for pleasure and not necessity.

So like in the not to distant future, suppose we can clone meat, just go to your counter top clone-0-matic and get out the day's cultured meat. And it just so happens that the cleanest, most nutritious meat for humans is human meat, but more specifically, meat with your own genetic code. Would it be sinful/cannibalism/bad to eat meat cloned off of your body?
but will it taste like bacon...

The point he's making is that it causes unnecessary suffering. Like people have mentioned, you don't need meat. At this point in our society, there's plenty of alternatives. Meat may have been necessary for people hundreds of years ago when we were still hunters and gatherers, but there's no way you can argue it is now.

You can get all the nutrition you need from non-meat sources. In fact, many health problems can be avoided if you remove, or a least limit the amount of meat in your diet.

Don't mind veggies too much, but vegans - they do my head in a bit. Especially the ones that swallow jizz. Double standards or what.

Not every body is the same. I don't think someone with a "pure" inuit herritage that goes back thousands of years owuld have as much of an easy time converting to "meat alternatives" like someone who's grown up in the west. That's a bit of an extreme, but diets are every bit as individual as anything else in humans. Some do well on a vegetarian diet, some people can't do it without getting ill.

i know the point he's making

you dont need meat no, you dont need a lot of things

but meat is still food, and what you eat for food doesn't have to be based on axioms of whatever is not essential is morally wrong

unnecessary suffering for animals is bad, which is why if you eat meat its much better for you to eat meat which comes from animals that haven't been mistreated

separate arguments though

my point still stands

I can't really see the point in non-veggies hounding veggies about this. If we don't see a moral issue with eating meat, surely we don't see one with not eating it either?

I could see why a vegetarian that believed in a judgemental god might want to change meat-eaters' opinions, but vegetarians really are harmless. Gwa's eating no meat so I can eat a bit more. Thanks gwa! :w:

I would just like to point out that while I have no problem with vegetarianism, I do have a problem with dodgy and illogical metaphysical reasoning
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

probably not saying anything new here but my thoughts:

-completely respect veggies who are veggie for whatever reason. I personally stay clear from horrific documentarys/ choose to be ignorant about terrible stuff that goes on. Also in my experience, they are amazing, creative cooks and make some very tasty shit
-completely loathe veggies who impose their views/ look down on meat eaters - these things should be an each to their own situation. It's stupid there should be any friction between either camp.

p.s. i love meat. my favourite meal in the world is based around a slab of nearly raw meat (steak), I could never give it up
