I think we have half decent regulations, but if you're getting imported stuff they might still tie the cows up on short chains so they can't "spoil" their tender muscles by using them too much. Deer is venison... not sure if we have a specific word for young deer as most deer's hunted and the hunting season doesn't coincide with the birthing season so it's rare anyone ever gets a chance to shoot newborn deer.
