Just to clarify, it looks like the festival is going ahead even though some of the entry gates are closed at the moment.

But the Overkill tent is cancelled due to being hit the worst, currently its unsafe in there. If I get a call saying its back on i'll post again. Sorry to all the punters who were looking forward to Overkill, i'm totally gutted.

Yup, just heard from Mr Daggus of this very forum, who took up a bucket and volunteered himself for drainage duties!

The mud is thick, but the bass is pumping

yep, a coupla hrs ago I chatted to Ed who runs the Overkill stage, he said they finally got it up & running about 8pm last nite, although it's obviously still pretty damn muddy. Any of the acts that didn't play yesterday cos of the weather are hopefully being re-scheduled for later in the weekend.

Ned & Ed re-opened the Overkill stage on Saturday at about 2pm with sets from Pinch and myself..

amazing Warrior vibez on site... nothing can hold those people down inspite of all the rain and the shit!!

me and Pinch had a wikkid time there...

yesterday (Sat) the trains were running as far as far as Reading - it's about £25-£30 in a cab from there, but the roads were passable...

big-up everyone who made such a massive effort to make it work..

m/a.. x

did anyone take any pictures from the event. Glad to see the Overkill re-open. My friends who were there were nearly in tears friday when they turned up.

I never made it due to getting so much mixed information on travelling down to the site. My lift fell thru and internet and TV reports were not promising. All my mates on site were having a great time and i felt truly gutted that i did not go down on thursday before it all kicked off.

Bangface crew spent loads of cash on inflatables for their party on Saturday night but ended up dishing them out to people dealing with the rivers and lakes on the Friday. I have a mental image of people paddling round the site on blow up dolphins etc..

Out to all the hardcore that stuck it out!!!

Got in after wading through water up to my thighs for about half a mile. Did this in bare feet.

The mud on the site immediately ruined my shoes but phletch sorted me out with some wellies - godsend!

It was worth it. Teriffic vibes and Pinch was fantastic - Find My Way, 2D, Spongebob, 50000 watts, Clouds - sooo cool.

Phletch let me that Coki killed it. Gutted I had to leave early.

Shouts to all who made it. Lets have a dubstep tent in 2008!

ditto. me and my girlfriend were taking our stuff back to the car at lunchtime when we realised quite how fugged the car park was. a bunch of farmers in tractors were charging people a tenner to pull their cars out of the mud, and there were aLOT of cars just stranded.

it was a choice between coki/loefah or getting our car out before the field turned into a foot deep mud pool.

on top of that, only saw about ten mins of pinch cos when i turned u pthe tent was closed. came back an hour later and his set was almost over - screwing. mary anne hobbs did a quality set though and like she mentioned, the vibe was great. Even if the toilets weren't. ive never seen so much shit. :o
